Problem with... multiplayer ;)

my buddy cant see games when i host them, but i can see his. but when we want to play everything is ok, game loads but it goes to windows:
"network async detected"
back to koh, everything seems to be alright but we arent in the same game. whats going on?

Only a guess (at this point with the details given), that it might be a post is being blocked or a firewall needing to be congiured to allow the game to be played online. Either or both os you can be the case. What I'd try first anyway.

Only other thing that comes to mind is you aren't both patched to the same version. Check that as well as if the patches aren't the same number, this too can show this.

As Dobber questioned, routers (all of them, including all non-dial-up modems) have built-in firewalls, and why my note about a blocked port. If you have no firewall, you're both subject to attacks and that too can corrupt the games if not wreak havoc as well.

If you can boot your computer and get it to start KoH without it immediately shutting down due to some virus then chances are you either have a firewall or a router.

KoH's port policy is a mystery to me and I never managed to get it to play properly on a natural network across a firewall. It only worked if I tunneled all traffic through a VPN like Hamachi to avoid all port-configuration problems.

i had only Windows "firewall" opened, but when i closed it, nothing happened.
sa hamachi is considered- once it rang me to argentina... :(

Not much more I can offer as it is probably a port, but can't say for sure. I've never played nor had time for MP myself, so sorry I can't say anything more.
