Is this game more GPU or CPU dependent?

WHat matters more for this game the GPU or the CPU?

I have an 8800GTS on a x2 3800, and using 1680x1050 I'm only getting around 55FPS on island frame rate.

So I was wondering is my CPU bottlenecking me or is my GPU the bottle neck? I'm going to think its the CPU.

What kind of FPS are you guys getting?

Could be both or neither for that matter. Have you installed and ran the dual core optimizer tool for the CPU? If not, I'd start by doing that. Also, which driver version for the video card are you using? Let us also not forget which OS and DX version as well. Too many unanswered questios that if you'd provdie your DxDiag we could tell you better with. It's hard to say without seeing the file.

Another way to look at it is if the 8800GTS was the bottleneck, then what would be the next step up, .............2 of them?:happy2: :huh:

Dare I say 8800GTX?! :eek: :wink: Nice way to address it though, Rnett, but we can't tell without the file as you also, as drivers might be a factor. :cheers:
