I haven't found it on a regular map yet, but I have found it lurking around in missions 6 and 10. Seeing as those two are jungle maps, it probably shows up only on jungle maps.

Where`s the Spino on mission 6?

In mission 6, it is lurking at the end of a turnoff by the path that you take to get to the pirate's base. There's an artifact hidden in the jungle to the left of it's nest.

Ah, yes, I remember.
But you need the Brachio-Earthquake to cut down all the trees and to get to the Artifact ^^
