I started a project in order to change the main map. I am angry whaen i see province of Orleans=town of Paris ;)
If anyone would like to help me, just write here.
This project should be done fast :)

if you would look at Holy Rome mapchanges you would have see that it is rather easy and the province is called Ille de France.

The names are easy to edit (see "What can you edit and where" thread), just change text files.

but how can he change the textures? the sizes and the form of the province? it's possible easy? I be angry to if I see the form and the border of Hungary :D and the names of the king was incorrect... the first and maybe the second king is good, but the others... can I change the kings sequence, or the game select random kingname? :scratch: :biggrin:

there are several diferent things you came up with:
1) it is VERY easy to change names of provinces, kings etc. (in this case I recomend you the "What can you edit" thread, where it is all well described, or download my mapchanges where it is handeled so you can also see it working)
2) the shapes of provinces (and thus kingdoms) are easy to edit on the map itself. But there remains a problem with political map. At the moment I'm editing the map (note: not the names which I already edited long ago, but borders and shapes of provinces, locations of towns etc.), but I have problem with the political map which doesn't accept the changes at all and is screwed up
3) the game allows you to define just first 1-2 kings (see "What can you edit..." thread or Holy Rome mapchanges), names of all others are randomly generated from list of national names provided in map/knights/nationality.in2 which are sources for all names of knights and kings. This also because the game is about alternative history and does not exactly follow history like Paradox games (f.e. how could Sigismund of Luxembourg/Bohemia become king of Hungary if his grandfather wouldn't marry Bohemian princess and his dynasty would stay in Luxembourg and never come to central Europe?)

I thought about making more provinces and i think that it will improve gameplay- game will be harder and there will be more units ;)

I am able to make the political map more-or-less playable,. but it looks nasty:

here just Bohemia is changed, but I'm much more ahead now (with Austrian lands changes as well as Poland and Hungary completely changed in order to be more accurate (and better for gameplay also) as well as Asia Minor etc.)

but if a province is added, the game doesn't run at all, that's as it is now. There already was one attempt of successfull politmap change and I'm now searching for reasons of success to push them little forward

I wrote the political map. that see better the border.
At the moment I'm editing the map
