View Full Version : vassal states
Will there be any vassal states ???
To those that don't know the concept of vassal states ill throw in a short description.
A vassal state is a state that have been threaten by another state to hand over a sertain % or amount of resources to the other state in exchange of a non agressive agrements and often also a promise of protection from the big kingdom towards the vassal, since it's in the strong kingdoms interest to keep it vassals and the income they provide. which is a good deal (compared to death) for the king of the small country since he get's to keep his kingdom though he is paying a heavy price.
vassal states are good diplomatic options, that i think could give the game play a littel nodge up in the right direction, as it opens up for some great backstabing and or recovering of strength tactics, depending which side you see it from.
Just my 2 cents

I would like to see vassals. It is a good way to get rid of some % of the micromanagament.
perhaps vassal states are an option in dimplomacy, or maybe you'd have to invade them first to enforce a vassal state with 'agressive negotiations' ;)
I allready asked....did not yet get an answer....but we can wait!!! but maybe this question is stated clearer....so have to put it back on top!!!
How about if you rule with an iron fist you might find you have a William Wallace or Joan of Arc on your hands to deal with.
Just a thought.

William Wallace was a rebel and Joan of Arc was french and fighting with the French against England.
Don't see what that have to do with vassal states, they are rebel and hero/knight and already implemented in the game.
I'm just suggesting that if you rule fairly (reasonable taxes, protect the people, etc) all will be well. But if you tax too high for too long, or you let an area get attacked again and again an uprising would happen. I'm not sure if that is how the rebels are already implemented but it would be cool if you could avoid it by they way you rule your kingdom.
I used William Wallace and Joan of Arc because in they inspired the people to fight those who would rule them. If the people who ruled them were fair and just there would be little need for rebellion.
(I know it's a lot more complicated than that but it's just for an analogy for the game.)

I think there will be some heroes in some way....the rebels are (I think) knights who lead an army of not happy people.....so there you have your William Wallace.......and foor Jean d'Arc....she will be just a very good Knight...only there no female knights yet....
