What can u tell me about that game? I just heared that it is one of the best middel age strategy games of all time. In germany it got only low rating in most of its reviews. If I like KoH would u suggest me to buy EU II?

EUII is quite a nice game. However, it lacks sufficiant diplomacy-option to really rock :) .
More than once I screamed in pain because I wasn't able to influence the AI-players in any way.

I agree with Angryminer, EUII is one of the best games in that genre... however, it lacks much in diplomacy-options. But it is a great game, one I would recommend :)

one thing, it isnt base on the middle ages. it starts on the year 1419 ends 1819. so most of it is set on the age of exploration. But is a good game and like agryminer said lacks diplomatic options.

EU is playing history. Lots of KOH game concepts (happiness, kingdom power, relations to other countries, and real-time pause mixture is similar to the things that make EU fun) EU is not about armies at all. Its about surviving and adapting to political changes (discovery of the new world, rising of new powers, reformations, etc) while building an empire. Its one of the few REALLY great games out there. It is patched every three months, because the programmer still loves improving it. It may require some patience and dedication to learn it though.

I wasted quite some hours on EU2 and wrote a few nice AARs. As has been said, it focuses more on the age of explorations, covering 1419 - 1819. The game attempts to have a historic setup, but of course once the game gets going anything can happen (though the English are more likely to go to North America, while the Spanish are prone to go for South and West America, etc.). Trade is handled abstractly, and diplomacy is about making war, finding allies, making vassals, etc. Inheritances through royal marriage are rather uncommon. Historical leaders and rulers appear over time automatically. Via ten sliders you set your domestic policies.

There's a review of the first EU here (http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?gameid=1630) and one highlighting the changes in EU2 here (http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?gameid=3179). (Underdogs has links to Chips&Bits for purchase for these games, not download links.)

i already played some hours now and must say that its really amazing. so many features that it takes a hell more time to get into it than any other game i have ever played. it really rocks!

sadly there was no manual in the dvd-case nor there was on the CD so i had to read some beginners-tuts on the web. if anybody has got the manual as .pdf file it would be nice of u if u contact me via pm.

The activity is mainly because of the varios mods and the multiplayer-mode.

"Victoria: A Kingdom Under the Sun" by the same developers is, in my opinion, a better game. If you are looking for something more similar to Knights of Honor, try "Crussader Kings" it just came out recently and it is also developed by the guys who did EU2 and Victoria.

I don't agree when you say that "V:KUS" is better, but thats just me...
Crusader Kings is quite nice, althought I would keep to KoH or EUII..
