How???

Food/Wine?

a bit of all those things will do nicely... ;)
this means if you think a rebellion is goona break out, you should
lower taxes, throw them a party, have them blessed, post guards on every corner of the streets, make sure ppl know YOU are king, and of course bribe someone occasionaly...
:D

I think sending a srong army with some food they don't have would be enough. Give them food and let them see the power of the king - at least for the rebelions on screenshots.
But, of course, it's necessery to have both of it.

Hey Frank
What exacly do you mean when you say "calm" down the rebels ?
I played a game once called Joan of Arc, and in this game there was a very effective way to calm down a rebellion :D ..............you just hang a few of them

No they used Ale as we today drink water and soda pops.
Ale was almost the only think you drank back then, cause water often was poluted and therefor made peopel sick.
But the ale wasent as strong back then as it is today, which must be considered a good thing as they drank large amount of ales back then.

Not entirely true I.e. as far as I know ale had an alcohol percent of around 5 – 7 % the reason why people didn’t get drunk was that they drank it all the time and so therefore they as time got worked up a “natural” resistance against the alcohol. The children also had to drink it ! But they got a little water in it, so that it wouldn’t be to strong for them.
Btw, did you know that it often was the women of the house who had the responsibility of making the ale?
But you are right that they did consume vast amounts of it. :D

I do not agree to what you just said there.
The alcohol procent of the ale back then was around a few % not up in the 5-7%.
It all lays in the production, and furthermore it was not intended to get you drunk back then, cause it was simpely a supstition for water.
The brewers could be many, not always the women and i would say that depends where you live, evry small town with respeckt for it self had a brewery around each corner, which was feasiabel since you did't drink water.
And i don't by the pooring water in the kids ale, cause that water was poluted and would/could make them sick.
But the kids did drink ale, infact you don't have to look further back than to the 20th centery to find schools giving the poor children ale, to enhance there consentration.
So

Where?!? Why don't I live there?or at leas didn't go to school there:D
But seriously (if that above wasnt serious:D), I agree that there wasn't as much alcohol as now. Only if I understood it well and you are talking about beer. Especially the czech beer:)
Try it.
PS: I know it's here again
