Your unit replenishment (healing) shoul not cost as much as buying a new one.

I think it should - anything making the game easier is a no no :)

And you are getting a full squad of experienced troops instead of a new one with no exp

On a sidenote; I'd call it 'refill' and not heal. Dead units are dead. You can't heal the dead. But you can refill it with fresh blood. But I find their experience must start at zero again.

The new soldiers experience is zero.
For example:
Your veteran-squad of light cavalry is slaughtered by some spearmen. One of the horsemen survives. He is still a veteran, but when you refill his squad it will be filled up with rookies, so the average experience will be quite low (read: no star or 1 star).

You guys go in such details but you never see a bigger problem - "how can you refill a squad of feudal knights in a city which has no traning grounds, stable or armory at all" :)

I agree though that price should be progressive depending on number of men you need to replace and population should be used. But stars.... well you will never have a veteran units then, because they all got hit in a battle you if you refill you lose stars, if not - you will have 1 soldier per unit.

good point.

maybe ability to combine partial units would be a good solution.
