Infiltrating the royal court

When you are at war with a nation, and you send a spy to infiltrate that kingdom it is almost sure that the nation will appoint the spy to become a marshall. Because I killed all their other marshalls during some intense fights.
I think that there must be a way to eliminate a merchant of the rival nation's royal court. This gives your spy the opportunity to become new merchant. For example...

Realms in times of war usually hire marschalls :) and depending on the kings interests some countries don´t use much traders or clerics. An agressive and expansionistic AI-King will use spies and marschalls
Clerics are only used by the AI, if there are provs with the wrong religion.
You have to set your spies in the long run strategy.
Usually i use 2 spies for one target and before i declare war. The chance for an trader or spy-spy is much higher. And if its a marschall again, i´ll call him back.
