I've conqued close to 80% of Europe now and ... if I have to load it takes a tremendous amount of time. To confirm the situation was due to having so many provinces I ran a new game and did some quick save quick loads with no problems. It seems that the more provinces you conquer the longer your game takes to load, which makes perfect sense really. The problem is in the TREMENDOUSLY long time mine is taking to laod )-=. My system is Intel P4 3.0Ghz running win xp, 1Gb ram, Geforce 5700 video... so I'm hoping there is something that can be done to lower the load times. Sorry for the long post

Looking forward to a response :)

ACH, actually I got to a point where it crashed every time I would reload it so I got frustrated and just deleted it. Well... I might as well admit to this but my strategy had been to enlist 5 spies to infiltrate the enemy I was trying to get a province from. Then as they got more and more rebelions from my spy marshals inciting revolts they would eventually run out of money and make one of my spies govern a province either as a merchant or priest. Then wham bam I'd claim independance and grab a province. The admission is this, I would save the game every time prior to using the spy and if he failed reload right after. I guess that might have been what caused the slow downs in loading ... but I'm not sure. I'm REALLY convinced it had alot to do with the number of provinces I had since there was a noticable increase in load time as I gained more provinces, to the point where it was taking close to 2 minutes to load the game. I'm hoping this further information helps and I appologize for ditching the saved game after it started crashing. It was only after I started reading these threads that I realized ya'll wanted those sent in. Thanks in advance and I appologize again for such a long post.
