I suppose I got that update yesterday in the evening... There was a Windows update, but as usual there was no information what patch was installed.

However, the best way to avoid IE exploits is to use another browser. I prefer Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/) (German download site: here (http://firefox.bric.de/index.php?page=downloads))... ;) Meanwhile, I got used to tabbed browsing without popups - and to my preset minimum font size (some sites use really small fonts ;) ).

Me, too, I don't use the IE very often but I still prefer my good old Netscape 4.7, even with XP. Afaik, it was the first browser to introduce tabbed browsing and popup blocking. :go:
But I'm also hearing a lot of good things about Firefox, seems that it has even caused recently a better position of Mozilla in the browser market:
