its not a bug !!!
the copyprotection doesn't recognize the CD properly. please check your cd/dvdrom vendor for a firmware update.

Do you have two cds? cuze if you do the second one this the original.
What you have to do is take it out then put it back in the autorun will pop up with play, uninstall, visit website, readme, exit. cilck on play and a small screen will pop up it had a knight holding a red flag , then insert the cd1 that should work. the patch fixed this for me :bowdown: thanks webmaster and patch team
I hope that works for you.

@evil
your drive has a firmware release 1.00. after googling a little bit, i get the following:
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1544
1.04 is the newest firmware. download it. grab a floppy disk. write the image and boot from the floppy.
BUT BE CAREFUL. flashing a optical drive may render it unuseable, if doing anything wrong!

My firmware version is 1.01. Is the cd-rom going to read the cd?

i don't have a list of drives and firmwares, but mainly a firmware upgrade solves such issues

I've had this same problem. But it happened on a Windows98 PC. Tried it on another PC running XP and it worked well.

I am also having this problem but strangely the game works. You just press no or cancel and the game will launch anyway....at least it does to me.
Also if you are having problem with this do NOT install 1.03 patch because then you definately won't be able to launch it...this game is really a mess, has potential but some things are terribly done.
it may be not only problem of the game. If you mess things up by yourself (modding the game) some problems may appear and neither the developer nor publisher is responsible for that. :go:

All these problems were present from the start....when we didn't even knew how to mod the game. I event uninstalled my anti-virus and all other anti-spyware/anti-trojan programs in quest for fixing the thing, but nothing worked. That was one of the biggest mistakes I ever did.
This game is full of bugs and really annyoing programs that turned aways many people even from the start. Instead of fixing these bugs Black Sea and Sunflowers did nothing.
