Hello all,

in my game, I have the Pope in my court and, of course, a couple of marshalls. But the option to start a crusade under the marshall options is always greyed out... is it a bug with the patch, or have I overlooked something?

If you are in war with a country, you can start a crusade.

Are you able to control a crusader army if the leader is one of your marshalls ?

Yes you are! But you must pay 1000 belief... [Can i say so?] And, like the posting above, you must be in war with a county, that isnt katholik!

@Pelikan you need 1000 piety to be able to start a crusade, If you don't, you can't.

Are you able to control a crusader army if the leader is one of your marshalls ?Unfortunatelly not while he's marching to his final "destination" :bawling: . But when he meets an enemy army, you get notification as if he's your normall marshall, so you can lead him and his troops in a battle.

Is this in all situation so, or only, when your cleric is pop? Cause i never let my marshalls go on a crusade...

You can send your marshall on crusade only when your cleric becomes the pope. Then you need piety for this action, but can't control the marshall until he fights.

You can be also asked to let your marshall go on crusade and then you can't controll him untill he meets enemy army.

I find Crusades quite useful. When your country is small and in need of money, an inexperieced marshall gets called to a crusade and you get a vassal out of it.

what if there is no papacy and you conquer rome and dont reinstate the papcy do you are you still able to have a pope or you need somthing like a building please help i really want a pope

and dont you find it weird that your king dies but marshalls dont and when your marshall becomes king he has a life span there should be a limit like i have a son come up from his family i think the whole royal or kingdom family should be further developted

Cro, ALWAYS reinstate papacy, or at least when you have a cleric.

It's not necessary always, but at least then, when most of kingdoms are catholics.

If you have Rome conquered, but papacy not reinstated yet, grant Rome to some of your enemies (of diferent religion) take it back and reinstate :) I don't know other way.

PS: good tip for a patch: reinstate papacy whenever you want (if having Rome)
