Hello,
One of my marshalls is king and I send him back to the throne to make some children, as I don't want a marshall become a King again, becuase they die, and then I lose experienced leaders.
My question is: The army, the marshall was commanding, became a mercenary camp. How long do these camps stay, or do they dissappear after some time?
It is not an ordinary mercenary camp, but my former army, now leaderless.

I don't want to hire another knight, since there is a high cance that it will be a enemy spy...

Or.....

Can my marshall stay in the field, and still get some offspring?

your king can "make children" wherever he is. It's not influenced if he is a marshall, cleric, trader or if he's not assigned to anything.
Children come randomly...

PS: if another of your marshalls comes to the camp, he will get those troops for free. You don't pay anything for your former troops.
But I don't know how long will the camp stay there. Everytime I had such camp, I went back for those troops soon

Actually you have a better chance of making babies when your king is a level five cleric as long as he isn't doing a job he will at least give you one heir.

@Grand Master Winz of Teutons:
Neither of the above statements proved true in any of the KoH-versions I tried (that is, all german ones).

When you lose a marshall and his army turns into mercenaries, why do teh troops lose all of their experence?

it is true that when your king dies or armies revolt, if they turn into a mercenary camp, they will rejoin a marshall for no cost. How long this lasts, i do not know, as i tend to rehire them immediately due to several large armies now seeking to take me down. :)

Actually, this is not 100% of the time true... I got a 5-stars cleric becoming king, and I recalled him to the court. After some time, I got a message that said that my king had an illness preventing him to have a baby... :blueohh:

so I experienced another short dynasty... :bland:

It depends where you put him. If you keep him as a cleric in the royal court he will have a much better chance than if you return him back to your kingdom.

that'S not true. I tried it few times and chance to have impotent king while having him as cleric is the same as any other...
