How to get Exotic Goods?

I have acquired all the domestic trading goods and I have built an Admiralty, but when I look for the exotic goods in either the political map mode or through my merchant, I can't find them anywhere? All I see is the "Trade for Gold" option. What should I do. Please help.

By the way, I am playing the early period.
