Hello everybody,

I have been lucky enough to get a Gmail account with Google. For those who have not heard of Gmail, it has 1000 MB of storage amd a search option to search your mail for particular mails you have saved. No more scrolling through endless saved mails.

Gmail is in beta, and signup for it, currently is available only by invitation. I can invite 4 people to signup for a Gmail account. If anyone is interested send me a PM and include your current email address and I will send you an invite(if you respond early enough that others do not beat you to it).

Thanks, Dobber.

Well, I guesss that people are hesitating to change their old email addy which would involve always issues with their contacts. As for me, for example, I'm quite happy with my Hotmail account where I dispose of 250 MB of storage for free now, largely enough for me. But thx for the information! :go:

Yeah, I've just seen that gmx also offers 1 GB for free, - gmx and gmail aren't the same, are they?

No, gmx is something different and not related to google.

Hasn't gmail this strange system of sorting your mails and isn't it watched by Google? I remember that they had an argument with the data protection.

I've got to mail accounts. One with freemail/web.de and one with GMX. The GMX one is the one I use to register at discussion boards, for newsletters etc. It's flooded with spam. I get about 50(!) new mails everyday, and the spam protection is quite permeable. :nono:

The other address includes my realname and is for more formal purposes. I use it at uni etc. I nearly never get spammails there. I think the layout is superior to GMX. It's easier to handle and much more convenient. But that's a matter of taste.
