LORD of The Rings KOH STYLE?

I just had some suggestions for blacksea on a possible new idea. More $$$ for you. More fun for me, and us fellow knights awaiting the arrival of this fabulous game. What do you guys thing. Raging hordes of Orcs climbing up laddlers to assault mighty fortresses, or Armys of Elfs Waging war against mighty legions of Goblin warlords? :angry: :bash: My orcish bretheren :Viking:

There are a bunch of games that alread have that. Beside the devs want this game to be historical not fantasy.:cheers:

Besides even if they want to make a game about The Lord of the Rings it would requier copyrights and they cost a lot- sometimes millions !I don't think Blacksea has that kind of money !

Besides, I Think all the LOTR rights are sold already. There's a RTS, several action games and a MMO comming up.

I remember a good old came called "The riders of Rohan", where you would do strategy (real time) and at the same time hunt the orcs with the party of Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli. I think it was the first time I saw SVGA graphics (or was it even VGA?).

I think I saw the name somewhere recently as well, maybe someone's doing a remake of it.

The game you are looking for is due for release in Winter 2004. It is called LOTR: The Battle for Middle Earth and is developed by EA(Westwood - the makers of C&C).

The game looks like it will be amazing, unlike that awful waste of a licence just released called The War of the Ring - which is absolutely terrible.

I can't wait to see more on this game. PCZone (UK) has a screenshot and info in the Jan issue.

Yea that game ****s.
License would be lot of money, so maybe a fantasy game with the KoH engine would be the best. :)
Ah well maybe in the future Black Sea will release a product like that. I would be very happy because
1. I love fantasy as well, not just the medieval themed games.
2. the KoH engine looks awesome after the screenies at least.
3. That game would have a big market, maybe even bigger than the medieval themed KoH.

The War Of the Ring is a complete waste of any Lotr fan or RTs fan's time. Absolutely Horrible, The Battle For Middle Earth Does Look Pretty Sweet Though

Yeah, Battle for Middle Earth looks very nice on screenies. But you should know that this game will depends only on fighting battles. There will be poor resource system, no diplomacy, trading, conquering etc... 20 scenarios and nothing more... Something like Praetorians.
But you 're right...Graphics is very cool, but I prefer another coming game with excelent graphics - Rome: Total War. This will be not 'strategy-action game' like Praetorians and other upcoming 3D RTS action games, but grand strategy with beatifull graph... And what I love in Total War series - ruling on Kingdom level is turn based, but battles are in real time ( with active pause!!!) like in old good Lords1&2 series...

Heck half the people who make video games have such a poor imagination it isn't funny. If you want my opinion they don't really care about how good the game is they just care about hyping it up, and buying the product. What I mean is that If there was a game similar, but not LOTR. But more like KOH, and Lord of the Realms, or Stronghold. Thats all I was saying. I can't see the problem. All of those other games are stupid. to me they are more like role playing.

Has anyone played the return of the king for console yet? The game is awesome it's just way too easy but it still has replay value like a mofo after you beat ( I Just can't get enough of argorn slashing through wave after wave of evil "orcsis")
