View Full Version : [EN]Should we be able to delete threads we started?
I think we should be able to delete the theads that we started if we so choose.
What is your opinion?
i am not sure if you should be able to delete a thread or not and because it was only a yes or no quetsion and not included a maybe so i voted no....
Yes! Why do I have to wait for some of the mods to come to delete my mistake-thread when I can do it right away? Well, actualy I can't now, but... And where's the Report post button?

I voted with yes. I know this feature from the old Anno1602/TechnoMage Board, and I think it is fair.

its a fine option, but if someone is upset, he can delete dozens of posts. but hey its vB3.x, he cannot delete them physically, so an mod/admin can restore them

The report post button is the the triangle on the right side of the post header. It is white outlined in red, with an "I" in it.
I missed this option sometimes... when you start bad thread or you start it and then you realize that the question already was asked or you misspelled some word n the name...
I think that this should be possible... for threads with, say, up to 5 replies...what do you think?

Not if there are too many replies, that would make my post-counter go down
Happy, you've got so many posts, it wouldn't hurt you for your count to go down!

I don't know if it will work that way on this board. I know from my experience as moderator of the old 1602 board that, whenever I made a deletion of a post or a thread, it would have no effect on the post count.
Was sagst du, Webi? How will it work here on this board?
Webi, also I have seen at least one question about how to actually delete ones own thread. On the old board, all that had to be done was to delete the first post of a thread. Is it the same here? Also, there was a warning to notify that deleting the first post of a thread will delete the entire thread. Maybe there should be a similar warning on the edit page of the first post of a thread here at this board.

That was on the old board. Here we have a more moderner board and the post counter will go down, if someone delete a post or a thread.;)

Yes, the same is here now, after Webmasters help.
