Are offtopic posts something more or less that they don not deserve to be counted?

what is the difference?

when you meet friends and talk to them, would you accept that somebody else will tell you then: "you haven't said anything" ??

Is webmaster's Inn only a keep of spamming that all posts here are not counted?
Why my posts inmodding section of KoH "deserve" to be counted while Dobber's in Webmaster's Inn don't?
what is the reason?

I don't understand it.

When you declare:"I don't care about number of posts" and right then you don't count all posts that are not concernig "forum topic" you prove you care about it. That's my opinion

The post-counter should indicate wether the user is very experienced and knows what he is talking about or if he is just guessing. But the posts in the Webmaster's Inn do not influence the user's experience about the Sunflowers games, so they shouldn't influence the post-counter.

But, again, this is not my opinion. I think the post-counter should be completely disabled. I don't think I'm a respectible person just because I have more than three thousand posts in this forum.
And, would you mind to edit the option "No Counter at all" into the poll? :go:

as I've seen on many boards.. when the OT's are counted, there are many who spams, just to get their numbers higher or to get a certain title. turning it off will at least minimize that risk.

I think it's good the counter is off here. :)

but the count is now moved only to on-topic forums. What means that spam will move back there (from here)

I wrote "minimize" the risk ;) didn't say it would be completely off

Personally I do not care if there are post counters at all. I do not come here and post just to run a count up. I come here because of the community, because of the friends I have made here. But I do feel that if you are going to turn the post counters off for one section, you should turn them off on the entire board.
Some might consider me a spammer because most of my posts are in the OT section of the board, yet my post average is less than 4 posts per day. There are some that post a higher average than that who have never been to the off-topic section.
Now tell me "What is the definition of a spammer?" Is it someone that is posting excessively? Is it someone that is posting only in the off-topic section? What is that fine line between spammer and non-spammer?
I would love to be able to post in the KoH forum helping people with the game, but I can't because the game was never released in the US. During the development stages of the game, I was anticipating the release as much as any other person on this site. I developed many friendships during those days. Am I now supposed to pretend those people don't exist and just slip away? The only place I can make a connection with them is in the OT section.
I would like to know why the off-topic section is the only one that warrants the post counters being turned off? Do they think that maybe some of the people will quit posting and go away? Are they trying to run off potential customers for future projects? Just what is the motive behind it?

I miss one opinion: "I don't care".

I don't care about my post-number and I also don't care about others...

this is not question of care about or not.

This is just comparison of importance of posts.
If something you say to enjoy it and make fun is less important than something you say seriously.

If you don't count things you made for fun you will not count half or more of your life, you don't count your whole childhood. Do you, webi, count your childhood as equal part of life to your adulthood?

PS: Off topic forums keep sunflowers' bords alive. Who would visit forums where are 2-10 posts per day? (KoH english forums. This situation is caused by one simple and silly decission: not to release KoH in USA. And Frujin - the father of KoH - stated clearly who is responsible for that:Just to make the things clear...

EA has the distribution rights for Europe only. The rights for US belongs to Sunflowers. They need to sign a deal with US distributor/publisher for KoH to be seen at the other side of the Ocean.Frujin, 24-01-2005, 08:25, thread No US release (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?p=85341#post85341)
