defeat White and pirates, help Yellow to get 1000 merchants
Free Traders - but they get stuck very soon, no military options!
very demanding and original approach
Suggested Solution (Beware, spoiler): Land, load cannons into the warehouse, build small shipyard at open sea, load material (cannons) into market wagon, build ship, get building material for the warehouse over the sea (lots of pirates!), build a new warehouse, delete own island before that or settle at one of the big island parts, take over the fortress island, quickly defeat now the other player (which may even have no towers), so that Yellow can automatically and separately develop to 1000 merchants, defeat pirates afterwards - or vice versa. Defeat White, and finish the scenario.

S P E C I A L I T Y: This is the only scenario I know up to today, in which the players have to fulfil different tasks. Unfortunately, I could not find out all tasks of the other players. However, in my last scenario this feature should be included into my last scenario *meddlingaround*
Tip(Beware, spoiler): By setting the market places on the start island quickly, you can easily get an iron ore and bricks monopoly. That means: The AI gets no bricks, i.e. no shipyard and no ships.

It seems to be a big thing, but it is not. You start with 4000 aristocrats, and the trading routes are pre-set, while the AI starts at zero. However, it is difficult to destroy the pirates nest (known feature, from a PCA anno 2000) and to support Blue.

1.7.273. Ships in distance
From Philipp the Great
5.000 Gold, no Free Traders,

The clou in this scenario is that the only gold mine is destroyed by a volcanoe eruption. You have to think several times around a corner  to get the solution.
1.7.274. Cut Off (Abgeschnitten)
by Norton anno 2005

20.000 Gold, pirates return, Free Traders
Notice: you start with an aristocrat city without a single production facility. If you build fast enough you can save all inhabitants. There are three AI's. With a clever timing one of them develops independently to the required size.
Also ideal for the advanced beginner as several conditions must be fulfilled to win the game.

No Free Traders, 10.148 Gold, pirates can be defeated, volcanoes,
One of the first scenarios where the pirate flag was at a place it could normally not be. In the beginning of the game it is recommended to calculate thoroughly and to save the few tools quickly.
1.7.299. Exploring 03 (Erkundung 03)
by NB anno September 1999, PCA 11/99
defeat pirates, Trade balance +5.000
Ship limit (5)
The island world is the same as in "Exploring02", but it is more developed. The pirates are located wisely and have a big navy.
How to get the +5000 trade balance without AI's is much more puzzeling... (?)
1.7.300. The Insidiousness (Die Hinterlist)
by Guido Creutziger, anno December 1999, PCA 03/00
City with 5.500 inhabitants (5000 aristocrats), defeat AI and pirates
100.000 Gold, Free Traders, pirates return
The creator commands "Beware!".
1.7.301. Microworld (Microwelt)
by Greatest
1.300 Aristocrats, defeat pirates.
100.000 Gold, Free Traders
This scenario makes it without big islands. So, micromanagement is necessary.
Also available as a multiplayer scenario.
1.7.302. Crossing Traffic (Kreuzverkehr)
by Greatest
City with 5.000 aristocrats, defeat pirates and White, help AI of your choice to get 1.000 aristocrats
5.000 Gold, Free Traders

1.7.303. The Hiking Bag (Wandertüte)
by Greatest
City with 1.500 aristocrats, help other player to get 500 aristocrats, Trade balance + 2.000
10.000 Gold, Free Traders, no volcanoes
Also available as a multiplayer scenario.
1.7.304. Enoch's Corner
by Philip the Great anno 2004
City with 3000 inhabitants (2500 aristocrats),
Only one island, 12.500 start capital, no pirates and no Free Traders. Very demanding.
1.7.305. Circles II.
by Bomi
City with 7.500 aristocrats
100.000 Gold, no pirates, Free Traders
Can be compared with the scenarios "Spinning tops" and "Kings Circles".
1.7.306. HJB 1
by Bomi (or should I say: HJB ;) )
Two Cities with 3000 aristocrats in each, with 555t jewelry and clothing in each
100.000 Gold, no pirates, Free Traders. Balance +5.000, trade balance + 1.000
Nice to see what individual things are possible with Sir Henry's Editor.
And it's good that the name consists of three letters and not of two.
1.7.307. HJB 2
Again by Bomi *g*
Cities mit 2500, 1500,1500 aristocrats, Balance +3.000
100.000 Gold, no pirates, Free Traders
1.7.308. Kifi 1
by Kifi (just like the next four scenarios, too ;) )
defeat AI and pirates
30.000 Gold
You start with three AI-players in a fertile island world. Never seen before: Within a short time, Yellow settles at several islands. The other AI's stay rather passive.
1.7.309. Kifi 2
Cities with 1000 (300 aristocrats) and 2000 (1000 merchants) inhabitants, defeat one AI, Balance + 2.000
30.000 Gold, Free Traders
You start at a developed island, but the space you need belongs to the AI in the beginning.
1.7.310. Kifi 3
Four AI's? A misprint in the Editor? ;)
Balance 500, Trade balance + 300
30.000 Gold, Free Traders, no pirates
volcanoes.. volcanoes... volcanoes...
1.7.311. Kifi 4
defeat AI of your choice
35.000 Gold, Free Traders, pirates can be defeated
1.7.312. Kifi 5
Continuous game without pirates, with Free Traders and only two (known) islands...
1.7.313. Forgotten (Vergessen)
by Markus Rieker anno 1999
City with 2000 inhabitants (1000 aristocrats), defeat Blue
1.7.314. Bigland
by ttd-fan anno 2005
Continuous game, with pirates (who return) and Free Traders
The title may be misleading - there are scenarios with bigger islands. ;)
1.7.315. Death becomes you
by Philipp the Great
Goal: 10 Aristocrats
Three ships, 50.000 Gold and only one mini island.
You may not believe it - but it is possible!
1.7.316. Big World
by J.J., anno 2001
30.000 Gold, pirates can be defeated, Free Traders
Part of this continuous game is a map with an instruction for max. 13.160 aristocrats.
I assert that there can be settled much more. ;)
1.7.317. The Hardest Task (Die schwerste Aufgabe)
by J.J.
City with 2.500 Aristocrats, Balance 20 Gold, defeat pirates and 4 (?) AI's
50.000 Gold, Free Traders
A map and a precise solution sample are included here, too.
The Scenario will not end as all four AI's (including oneself) should be defeated. If you delete the checking for yourselves in Sir Henry's Goal Editor a very strong enemy should be defeated.
1.7.318. The Backyard Pirate (Der Hinterhofpirat)
by Gido Creutziger, aka Sandmann anno 10.09.1999
A Continuous game which starts in a destroyed city...
100.000 Gold, Free Traders, pirates return
This map is practically the same as in "New Homeland" (see below).
1.7.319. New Homeland (Neue Heimat)
by Gido Creutziger, aka Sandmann anno 11.09.1999
City with 10.000 inhabitants (thereof 5000 Settlers), defeat pirates
This map is practically the same as in "The Backyard Pirate" (see above).
1.7.320. The Naval Base (Flottenstützpunkt")
by Jörg Böhme anno Feburary 2000
40.000 Gold, Free Traders
defeat Yellow and pirates. 2000 inhabitants, thereof 1500 aristocrats, Blue: 1500 inhabitants, thereof 1000 merchants.
Directly after the start you are bothered by the balance of -600 and the Yellow enemy. The clou is that the gold mines are located at the islands of Blue - who should be supported...
1.7.321. Peace here and everywhere (Frieden hier and überall)
by Ken Schumacher
Ship limit (11)
Two Cities with 3000 inhabitants (500 aristocrats), trade balance +1.500, help White to get 1000 (200 Settlers)
If you think you will find big islands here you will be disappointed - there are only two of them. However, it is harder to support White to get 1000 inhabitants...
1.7.322. Gold Rush (Goldrausch)
by Markus Rieker
60.000 Gold, Free Traders, pirates
defeat Blue and Yellow, Gold monopoly
A scenario which should be quickly solved by experienced Anno players (togther with two AI's you start at zero...).
1.7.323. The Two (Die Zwei)
by Gudio Creutziger
Continuous game
100.000 Gold, Free Traders, pirates return (though the task states the map would be "free of pirates") ;) )
1.7.324. Los Alamos
by Susanne Schulze
City with 900 merchants (though the task demands "900 aristocrats" ;) )
15.000 Gold, no Free Traders and no pirates
At the beginning, "mental arithmetic" is necessary. There are at least two ways to find an entry into the game. One hint was hidden by the creator in the task.
1.7.325. All beginnings are difficult (Aller Anfang ist schwer)
by Sören Evers
1.7.326. Land ahoy! (Land in Sicht)
by Stephan Kessler
1.7.327. Who will win?
Three Cities: 1500 (thereof 1000 aristocrats), 1000 merchants, 900 (600 merchants), defeat Blue, help Yellow to get 500 merchants, Balance +30.000
19.500 Gold, pirates return, Free Traders
Together with the AI, you start at zero. Only Blue has a mighty aristocrat city. Blue can get angry soon...
1.7.328. Hard Crossing (Schwere Überfahrt)
by Stephan Kessler
City with 500 merchants and defeat pirates
15.000 Gold, Free Traders
Short to play; quasi a warm-up ;)
But beware: Arrange all necessary things before (!) the only iron ore mine will be "vulcanized"
1.7.329. Slave
City with 64.000 (!!) inhabitants, defeat Yellow and pirates, Balance +5.000, Trade balance +500
1.7.330. The French Revenge
Three Cities: 240 Pioneers, 1000 Pioneers, 1.500 merchants, defeat Yellow and White, Blue should have 500 merchants, Gold and Spice monopoly, Balance +20.000, Trade balance +800
10.000 Gold, Free Traders, pirates return
You start with 2 big battleships, with the "usual" things aboard, including soldiers. The same is for Blue. The AI is very far developed and reacts nervous quickly.
That's the right scenario for those who like to fight. Due to the powerful pirates it is difficult to begin the game. Small hint concerning the finances: A sort of gold monopoly is possible... ;)
1.7.331. The Challenge
Three Cities: 2.500, 1.500 and 10 aristocrats, defeat pirates
As indicated in the name: a challenge (BTW not identical with the scenario of Markus Rieker with the same name). Only two big islands (for three cities) and smaller pieces of land.
At the start, the own, partly damaged ships are in a inner lake. The only companion is a pirate ship...
Ship limit (5), 25.000 Gold, Free Traders
1.7.332. This is hard
defeat Blue, 300 Citizens, Gold and Iron ore monopoly
The map shows only two northern islands. Blue has two big ships. A quick and clever start is necessary...
15.000 Gold, Free Traders
1.7.333. U will die
City with 5000 aristocrats, defeat pirates
100.000 Gold, Free Traders
Three big islands. You start alone with 1.560 Aristocrats and a naval battle with the pirates, who have a warehouse at the same island. But there are no goods for the aristocrats and no building material...
1.7.334. Whats theirs is Mine
by tanner_85
Three Cities: 11.000 inhabitants (10.000 aristocrats), 25.000 inhabitants (2.500 aristocrats), 500 Citizens, defeat Blue and Yellow, Balance +30.000, Trade balance +5.000, Baumwoll- and Cocoa monopoly.
100.000 Gold, pirates return, Free Traders
With an infight start, this scenario demands quick fingers to be able to set a warehouse. After that, you will face the powerful AI Blue/Yellow (partly extremely nervous) with a few own (probably) damaged ships.
1.7.335. Scavanger
City with 200 Citizensn
6000 Gold, no Free Traders, no volcanoes
There is only one relatively small island...
1.7.336. Isles of Splendur
Continuous game, 100.000 Gold, with pirates and Free Traders.
The own island is - quite unorthodox - developed, and the three AI's do not have warehouses yet
1.7.337. New Munich
Only one huge big aristocrat city - Munich.
1.7.338. Revenge is mine 1.0
City with 500 inhabitants (thereof 300 Settlers), defeat pirates, Balance +500, Trade balance +50
40.000 Gold, Free Traders,
You start with three AI's, but you have the advantages aboard (cannons ;) ).
1.7.339. Revenge is mine 2.0
Two Cities with 700 inhabitants (300 Citizens), 50t Gold, defeat pirates, Balance +800, Trade balance + 200
10.000 Gold, Free Traders
island world like in 1.0
1.7.340. Mission Impossible
City with 1000 inhabitants (400 aristocrats), help AI of your choice to get 500 tax payers, Balance +3.400, Trade balance +500, Gold and Spice monopoly
Without gold and spice islands it seems that this scenario is hard to beat...
1.7.341. Christian Seafaring (Christliche Seefahrt)
by Raimand K a.k.a. CaptnHook
City with 2000 Aristocrats, Balance +2.000, AI should get 1000 aristocrats,
15.000 Gold.
You start alone in a fertile island world. Alone... plus returning pirates plus Free Traders.
1.7.342. The Valiant Little Tailor (Tapferes Schneiderlein 1) (Version 2 1/2001)
by RaimandK a.k.a. CaptnHook
City with 7000 inhabitants (5000 aristocrats), Balance +6000
Three big islands, no AI nor pirates, but Free Traders.
1.7.343. The Valiant Little Tailor 2 (Tapferes Schneiderlein 2) (Version 2 2/2001)
by RaimandK a.k.a. CaptnHook
Cities with 500 and 600 Aristocrats, Balance +20
30.000 Gold, pirates return, Free Traders
You start in a island world with small islands settled by the AI. Only a few small islands are free.
1.7.344. The Valiant Little Tailor 3 (Tapferes Schneiderlein 3) (Version 2 2/2001)
by RaimandK a.k.a. CaptnHook
Three Cities with 1000 inhabitants in each (thereof 100 Aristocrats in each). Balance +2000

1.7.345. The Valiant Little Tailor 4 (Tapferes Schneiderlein 4) (Version 2 2/2001)
by RaimandK a.k.a. CaptnHook
defeat pirates, Balance +5.000, trade balance + 2.000
20.000 Gold, pirates return, Free Traders
You are alone with the pirates in the island world...
1.7.346. The Valiant Little Tailor 5 (Tapferes Schneiderlein 5) (Version1 2/2001)
by RaimandK a.k.a. CaptnHook
defeat Blue and the pirates
Alone against a superiority...
1.7.347. Isolation
City with 1000 Aristocrats, Balance + 1.000,
Only two relatively small islands, no pirates, no Free Traders and exactly 68 tools aboard...
1.7.348. King George's Demand 1+2
Cities 1600 (1000 aristocrats), and 2x 1000 (600 merchants), Blue should get 950 inhabitants (350 aristocrats), iron ore and gold monopoly
10.000 Gold, pirates return, Free Traders
1.7.349. Down to the Last Man (Bis zum letzten Mann)
City with 1.300 inhabitants (thereof 800 aristocrats), defeat pirates and Blue, Balance + 1.600
100.000 Gold, Free Traders
Wow... you start together with blue at an island, and the infantry armies start to fight immediately. Trading with the AI is nearly impossible...
1.7.350. Childs Play
Continuous game
10.000 Gold, pirates return, Free Traders
You start together with the pirates at an island...
1.7.351. The Son (Der Sohn)
Cities with 2500 and 1500 Aristocrats,
Balance + 1.000
9.690 Gold, no pirates, Free Traders
You start at zero; there are three developed AI's. The AI is extremely nervous which makes this scenario hard.
Seems to be a copy of scenario 1.2.10. "The Prince Test" (Gold Edition Scenarios). - RoadRunner
1.7.352. Get Gold and Iron
City with 2.500 inhabitants (thereof 1000 aristocrats), help AI to get 1.000 tax payers, gold and iron ore monopoly, Balance +2000, Trade balance +150
Seldom start situation: Only five bigger islands, only you have a city with aristocrats (incl. a full warehouse). All other islands are (still) unsettled. The AI and the pirates have lots of big battleships...
1.7.353. Gold and Iron
Continuous game according to the maxim: "All Ya Gotta Do is Live and Grow."
You start with three AI's plus returning pirates in an insland world which will not be big enough for all four...
1.7.354. The Wedding of the King's Son (Hochzeit des Königssohnes)
by Jogibär anno 1999
City with 2.500 inhabitants (1400 aristocrats), defeat one AI, help another AI to get 750 inhabitants (500 merchants), Balance +1.000, Trade balance +200
20.000 Gold, Free Traders, no pirates
Four players start together, everyone has two ships equipped identically...
1.7.355. Holy Smoke
A Continuous game. The task defines the goals which are not checked by Anno. One big and three smaller islands.
10.000 Gold, Free Traders, pirates
1.7.356. At the End of the World (Am Ende der Welt)
City with 500 Aristocrats
1000 Gold, pirates, Free Traders
1.7.357. Stage 3
by Dread Pirate Terry anno 2005
At present, a very qualified Continuous game. The powerful and nervous AI's make the game start difficult. It can be done nevertheless with the cleverness of the human player and with the knowledge which attack pattern the AI uses. And of course with the 100.000 gold start capital and a little bit of luck. ;)
1.7.358. Peaceful New Land
Build three Cities, 2100 inhabitants (2000 aristocrats) should find their home in each of them.
20.000 Gold, no Free Traders, no pirates
Together with three AI players you start in a nearly symmetric island world consisting of four big and lots of small islands. 100t of tools are aboard...
1.7.359. When in America
by Philipp the Great
2.500 aristocrats, defeat pirates, spice and Vine monopoly, Balance +5.000
You are alone without pirates, AI, Free Traders. Smaller islands. And... it is even solveable if the numerous natives stay alive.
1.7.360. Relentless Onslaught 1+2
by Philipp the Great
Two Cities 10.000, + 7.000 tax payers, + 5000 inhabitants (thereof 3.000 aristocrats), vine and Cocoa monopoly, defeat all three AI and pirates
100.000 Gold, three very aggressive AI's, Soldiers aboard, Balance -529. The game start is set up very good and keeps your breath for a long time. For more advanced annoists, of course.
1.7.361. Yohoho (from 2003)
City with 25.000 inhabitants, thereof 7.500 Aristocrats, defeat Blue, Yellow, and the pirates, Help White to get 1.500 inhabitants (1000 aristocrats), Balance +4.800, trade balance +1.000
1,3 Mio. Gold, Free Traders, pirates return
The own city is built up, but there are no production islands. That's the right scenario for players who like to destroy AI towers - the other players incl. the pirates have hundreds of them...
1.7.362. The Examination of the Smurfs (Die Prüfung der Schlümpfe)
by Stefan Gerner
This scenario was quasi the template of his scenario "The Examination of the Dwarfs" ("Die Prüfung der Zwerge"), which became the winner of the Mapper Contest in 2000 (see chapter 1.9. - Contest scenarios)
City with 3.500 aristocrats, defeat Blue, Balance +3.000
Ship limit (6), 20.000 Gold, Free Traders
1.7.363. In foreign Waters (In fremden Gewässern)
by K. Kütemeyer (Garbsen), PCG 6/99
10.000 Gold, Free Traders,
City with 2.500 aristocrats, defeat pirates, Blue and White; help Yellow to get 2000 Aristocrats
The tolerances of Blue and White are set in a way which make the solution of the task even more difficult as it already seems.
1.7.364. The Sea quake (Das Seebeben)
by B.Dages anno December 2000
95.000 Gold Free Traders, pirates return
500 merchants, help AI to get 1000 inhabitants (500 merchants)
You settle with three AI at one island, two of them declare war after a short time. The AI which should be supported is not easy to reach as its warehouse is located in a sort of "sand bank lake"... Unfortunately, the pirates do not accept bribes later.
I think this scenario is highly recommendable.
Afterwards, you have the choice to use several market wagons (yes, that is possible!) at one island or to defeat the city "Sir Henry". And provide Blue another island where it can settle (as the shipyard initially also leads only into the lake).
1.7.365. The big Adventure (Das große Abenteuer)
by M.Hartmann (Netphen), PCG 9/99
defeat pirates; 1000 Citizens + 1500 merchants + 2500 Aristocrats; Balance +500, Trade balance + 5000, Gold monopoly, cotton monopoly
100.000 Gold, no droughts, pirates can be defeated, Free Traders
Lots of big islands...
1.7.366. The Palace (Das Schloß)
by Bold PCA 01/00
City with 3000 Pioneers, defeat three AI's and pirates,
300.000 Gold, Free Traders
Powerful pirates, you are relatively far developed, but in war with three AI, tributes are useless. And 5 AI armies invade your island immediately...
1.7.367. Fight for the Homeland / Homeland (Kampf für die Heimat / Heimat (http://www.annopool.de/deutsch/comment.php?dlid=7&PHPSESSID=94349b1e43659007f515f1a3bddcc934))
by Scholli
defeat Blue, City with 7.000 inhabitants, help Yellow to get 2.500 Aristocrats
20.000 Gold, pirates, no Free Traders
One of the most difficult scenarios ever. Especially the threadneedle-island is unique. You can read here (http://forum.gamesweb.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=209752&perpage=25&pagenumber=1) (in German only) what a tough nut it was to crack - even for experienced annoists.

1.9. Contest - Scenarios
Already in May 1998, Sunflowers organized monthly Highscore-Contests (http://www.anno1602.de/english/index.html?contests/gesamt_1602.html). The basis for them was not one of the today usual scenarios, as the scenario editor did not exist yet, and Sir Henry's Island Editor was not more than maybe roughly designed in his thoughts. Nevertheless, to complete the picture, here is the list of the participants sorted by points of their end results. Some of the names are still remembered by older annoists.
Klaus Grummich (1.), Ute Masztalerz, Johann Lang, Orodruin, Blan, Ute Masztalerz, Karsten Schneide, Mario Brademann, Harald Lins Difficult, Thomas, Stefan Hribar, Karel Kaufmann, Batman, Christoph, Michael Schmidt, Adrian Pilatz ,Martin, Candyman, Orodurin, Stefan Hribar, Georg, Thorsten Schlosser, Thomas Jahrbacher, Silvia Schuelein, Reinhard Seidl, Fritz Ott, Wolfgang Citizens,Stefan Gutwin, Samir Koeckritz, Michael Boing, Thomas Lohr, Stephanie Wulff, Silvia Schuelein, R.Schuelein, Jörg Hagedorn, Heinz-Herrmann Fetter, Ceasar, Wolfgang Schmidt, Eulogia Pousada Alvares, Martin Vogt, Mayk Sonnemann, Steven M. The contest took place in three phases. After finishing a), you sent in your savegame to Linde and received b), after finishing b) you got c). As an award, everyone who solved the third scenario got a neck pillow.

The Traveller Part 3 Der Reisende Teil 3 (http://anno1602.die-offenbacher.de/gewinnspiel3frame.htm)
by Andre Beran
2 cities, permanently have soldiers
ship limit (13), no military options, 100.000 Gold, Free Traders.
Three big cities with 3000, 25.000 and finally 2.500 aristocrats, defeat pirates, Trading with natives should be possible, do not lose ships!
As there were four winner lists, here the participants without special order: Jogibär, Joachim Reinisch, Frank Czischke Fgamer, Michael Hermann, Heinz Hermann, Manfred Dullinger, Gummimann, Paul Heß, Cusanus, GabiB, Budgie, Annophil, Reimand Ulrich, Heinz Schröer, Bernd, Bernd Kiefer, Udo Damsch "Udonello"
Once more a marvellous scenario where not only the start should be planned thoroughly. In addition, at some stage of this scenario every AI gets "angry".
In this scenario, Udonello founded his legendary, wondrous ship reproduction ( http://anno1602.die-offenbacher.de/gewinnspiel3warumnur13schiffeesgehenauchmehr.htm) (site in German only).

"Mapper Contest"
The goal was to create the „best“ scenario.
The Winner was „The Examination of the Dwarfs“ by Stefan Gerner, which was a modification of his scenario „The Examination of the Smurfs“ (see Single Player scenarios, 1.7.362.; press Ctrl + F to find it).
Goals of the winner scenario: 3.000 aristocrats, defeat Blue, Balance +3.000
ship limit (6), no military options, 20.000 Gold, Free Traders.

defeat pirates, no military options, Free Traders, 10.500 Gold
You start alone, but with pirates in an island world consisting of only two islands. You will need one of them for the necessary gold, but this one is settled by natives (how many warehouses can be set at one island?). At the other one, select the place for the warehouse wisely as otherwise the Free Traders will block your harbour.
Personal remark: Though I got this scenario in 2004 only (and until then, I had seen a lot of good scenarios), I was fascinated by its love to the detail.

Build a city at the @-Island with 2500 aristocrats and a cathredral and another one with 1000 taxpayers. Help a friend to get 1000 taxpayers, and defeat a false friend. Get the gold monopoly, and send a ship with at least one ton of gold home (i.e. to Hoffenheim). Trading with the natives must be possible.
Mamayourepeoplearehungry surprised the Community - she was the only one who could „grow“ aristocrats without a single market place.
