I had a bit of trouble today, in trying to modify (or rather, add) a king file for Sicily under my maps/europe/kings folder. I saw none there, after having installed the lovely Glory of God mod, and absolutely -hating- the pictures and names of the Sicilian court, looked for a way to change them. So I added a sicily:1000 file (as I wanted to start the game in High Middle Ages scenario). I added my characters: Robert le Guiscard as king, Sigelgaita as his queen, and Robert as his son. Well, they showed up alright in-game, but their names are corrupted. For instance, Robert le Guiscard shows up as 'Robert le Guiscard,m', and his wife 'Sigelgaita,f', etc. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I noticed the same trouble after having installed Elvain's Holy Rome mod. Would appreciate any pointers! :bash:
do you have both parts of my mod downloaded? if you have only one part knights will be shown like this. Please could you describe problem you have with my mod?
For Robert Guiscard you need to add him to texts/knights/eu_knights.tsv

Yes, I'd downloaded and applied both parts of your mod. This was to the North American release, I should mention. Trying to run it, the names of the kings and others in the Royal Court were showing up as I mentioned with my attempt at modding Sicily, and additionally, none of the kingdom names were displaying properly. In starting a game, they displayed alright in selecting a country. But once the game was started, they all showed up as 'Kingdomof'. Again, I installed both parts of the mod, and saw to it that the files were all in the KoH directory, but for some reason, it gave me that trouble.
Have you used PakMan for Installing it?

No, I simply unzipped it with WinRar, and put the directories all in my KoH folder.
that's the problem. the game probably reads eu_knights and other texts files from original files and ignores my modifications.
I have two recomendations:
download PakMan (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?t=3255&highlight=pakman) and then chose first or second:
1) if you have enough space on your PC, create backups* of europe.pak, texts.pak and defs.pak, unpack them in PakMan (path: open PakMan, open certain .pak file, rightclick, select all, extract all files - to original directories) and then copy files from my mod and overwrite existing files. It should work.
2) create backups* of europe.pak, texts.pak and defs.pak, open them in PakMan and then "replace content - of all files - by files from specified directory" when specified directory is the directory where you have my mod. All edited files will have "*"at the beggining of line, and then save changes (in pakMan)
First is better IMO, but requires some more free space on your comp.
