View Full Version : Problem Starting Game...
When I start the game now I get this message:
"Conflict: a hook process was found. Please deactivate all Antivirus and Anti-Trojan programs and debuggers."
I have the XP Service Pack 2, Spysweeper and Norton Antivirus and Spybot: Search and Destroy.
The only thing I have done since last playing the game is get an updated version of Spysweeper and download some Windows updates, which went automatically. What should I do?
Got my Copy yesterday from Paradox. Installed it and...
I got the same message u got. So, I deactivated Norton (ended process through task mgr). Then....
Everytime I try to start KoH I get:
"Runtime Error!
Program C:\....(swedish pathnames for Docs & settings etc etc).......\Temp\AAZYBZAI\YBJZZYQQQ.exe
abnormal program termination"
Everytime I try I get different endings in the path....

have you run any sweeps for any spyware or crap on your computer? Maybe those are bad files or something. Also, for me I just exit SpySweeper and it works, so Norton didn't affect mine. All I could think of to fix the second part would be to delete those files. If they are Temp you probably don't need them. That and sweep your system. That's all I got but I'm no expert.
Ok, I'll try that & report back

Sweeped the system - no baddies..
Deleted temp - but I think that KoH is supposed to put some .exe file there when it runs, because everytime I start KoH - some subdirectories appear in the Temp directory. When I click "ok" on the "Runtime error" msg, the directories dissapear...
So, I can't use KoH

The tool Spy Sweeper is known to cause this problem.
It is recommended to uninstall that program (and use something like the freeware Spybot S&D from http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html ).
Yea. Mine would restart and stuff so I got rid of it and reinstalled it. It works fine because you can't upgrade the version, you must keep it the original version, not the online update.
