1. How come when you become a bigger power (or not sometimes) I will have a trade agreement with someone big (like Almohads/Fatimids) but when you try to get your merchant to trade with them you have the option but it offers you 0 gold?

2. Also, why do your relationships with other countries always go down over time? I get tired of having an alliance with someone but they have like a really bad relationship with me while I am at neutral with like Fatimids but have a Harmonious relationship with me? It gets old having to bribe countries when they just keep getting worse and never bribe you back.

3. When you ask or demand or something from a computer sometimes they don't say no or yes but they say, "What if I agree to give you something and XXXX gold". How come you can't do this, and if you can how? I mean say to a computer I will give you 1000 gold for a trade agreement without having to give them the gold ahead of time and end up getting nothing out of it?

Assuming you're not using any mods...

Better relationship = more gold. Crappy relationship = less gold ("Feud"= 0 gold no matter how big they are).

2. Also, why do your relationships with other countries always go down over time? I get tired of having an alliance with someone but they have like a really bad relationship with me while I am at neutral with like Fatimids but have a Harmonious relationship with me? If they're always going down, then you're doing a good job pissing other countries off. :go: Try not to make too many alliances (marriage or otherwise), and with whatever alliances you DO make, check and make sure your diplomatic stances with the other major powers is roughly the same - or be willing to MAKE it the same in the intrests of maintaining the alliance.

You can't because that feature wasn't implemented.

Not entirely true. If you hand out gifts, whatever their nature, it may please the country, so if you don't close the diplomatic scroll and immediately offer a trade agreement, a pact of non aggression, etc, you will be told something like "We appreciated your gift... so...".
Perhaps I am truly lucky but it does work. The only difference is that you must do it before your proposal.

As for your relationships, I like the way they are. If everyone curtsied you, the game would become boring.

And look on the bright side! If you have crappy relationships with a country, you can always use that as a exuse for wreaking havoc on the country!

But then if you break the alliance with them you still lose kingdom power...

Also, even though giving gifts may improve your relationship, you must give them more for something then they will ever offer you.

Not necessarily. If you make an alliance with one nation and stick with it (one of the most fun ways to replay the demo...take 4 provinces from England and make an alliance with someone in Western Europe...reinforce their armies and put down their rebellions...they will DOMINATE!), meaning you match your diplomatic policies with theirs, it can be a somewhat rewarding relationship - your merchants make more money, your diplomatic opinions are backed up by another powerful, influential country, and when the mere threat of war from both of you doesn't make other nations tremble, than their extra marshals can help. But then again, all that is a different playstyle geared towards the demo (no more than 6 provinces), not being the real Emperor of Europe.
