I imagin a fierce fight taking place at the IT-department of paradox, with evil opressors once in a while assaulting the server-room and some days later the paradox-workers taking back the server-room...

I played Normandy too but used an entirely different strategy. I first attacked the Bretagne then went at war against wessex and conquered their province. They retreated in Irland and I made peace with them. By then, Most of England was in the hands of York. I had planned to lead a war against them but I got a better opportunity in France where the King of France offered me Anjou so I go to war against the Orlean/Lotharingia allies. So now most of France is mine(The actual kingdom of France conquered land in northern spain) but in England I still on have the extreme south-west land that I hope to eventually use as foothole for my invasion of York.

Just curious, Languish...are you running vanilla KoH or are you using a modded version? You seem to be having an easy enough go at it that you might want to stiffen the competition a little.

His first entry on Paradox Thread says "Normandy: Normal/Early Period. No Mod's."

Vanilla - it's my first game. However, for my next game, i will most likely be using a mod.

Actually the strategy you have described its not so different to mine. Like you I attacked Brittany and then Wessex. Like you they retreated to Ireland (amazing coincidences so far!). Like you the remaining English lands were under the control of York. This is where fate took us in different directions. I was very aggressive in my pursuit of the throne of England. After that I attacked France. Let me know how you progress - I'd be interested!

My latest map. I had conquered Norway but returned it to sweden as the lands held no interest to me (all advantages already - nothing to offer me except rebels, upkeep & development and long journeys to get to it) and then progressed on to conquer parts of the rhineland and northern Iberia. Its turning out to be a great game that I am enjoying immensely. I am looking to finish it shortly - on a high :)

I played 4 hours yesterday.

I wiped out all of Orlean. France was finally wiped out in spain by Toledo. My enemies right now are Lotharingia, that managed to conquer a good part of germany, and Wessex... while its land in Ireland was conquered by scotland, they managed to conquer that province east from Wessex from York. So York called me for help against them so I sent there my english Marshal.. I havent managed to conquer the province yet, though. The first army I sent there to try conquering the province was ill-equipped so I had to retreat. This time they are much better equipped with Normans and men-at-arms to support the longbowmen. I should manage to conquer the province and defeat Wessex once and for all. Then England will be in peace once again. I have pretty good relations with York and there are much better land to conquer elsewhere for now. And I just don't want my kingdom name to become "England" :)

But most of my strength is against the Lotharingia that holds(or held) quite a large territory. They are disliked by about everyone so it doesnt bother anyone that I wage war against them. I got three Marshals in western germany/eastern France/Northern Italia(Gene). While my last one(beside my "english" one) is behind in Northern spain/southern France to stop any rebellions that could happen there.

Looks like you took my advice. I would finish off Iberia before I would go any were else.

None of the iberian kingdoms are a threat anymore. France looks like it has grown to an uncormfortable size though...

just wondering, why did you send all your armies to attack leon, leaving your easteren froniter open to attack. when i go for a nation i usally send 2 armies, while my other amires patrol the borders and take care of any rebels poping up in newly conquered lands.

I have been forced to do likewise :/ - as later developments prove.
