Well after some messing around and free time I came up with my own little unit adjustment. It is mostly archer and unit size changes. So check it out and tell me what you think.
Unit A (http://www.geocities.com/ecsutahband/Unit_A.zip)
List of changes:
*Size-
- all units are 1.5 as big. (changed it back to 1.5 from 2)
- ex. Archers were 30 now 45 in a group = more bloodshed
*Arrows/units-
- when fired have more of an arch
- are scattered more (instead of being able to hit a dime)
*Units-
- Since the scattered arrow effect was so effective all archer damage was lowered by 1/4
-archer ranges also increased for all foot archers for more realism
-minimum shooting distance also increased so foot archers cant shoot at point blank range.
-horse archer shooting distance decreased; but can shoot almost at point blank
*the only thing that might need adjustment is ctk for archers*
YOU must check it yout yourself. Run the game with the changes and you'll see if it works or not... Just because only YOU know what was edited (sorry, do you want me to check all those files and find what have you changed there? it will take me hours!) so you can only check if it works as YOU want.
You can't ask us to check if every your change works. Could you imagine if everybody does this? Imagine that I have changed units stats and send it to you to check it. But you wouldn't know what to watch (is norman's defense improved? is range of longbowmen changed? are morale bonuses changed?) sou you won't be able to tell me if it works or not. It is the same now.
PS: I miss units.xls there. It is the most important file for units. If you want to edit things right you need to edit units.xls and then copy it to units.txt, by editing just units.txt you may simply mess everything up!

@Elvain:
I never edit units.xls. It's a matter of personal preferance.
Angryminer
it is better, in units.xls you know what you edit :wink:
@Elvain whoa there ! :rumble:
"Check it out" does not necessarily mean "verify that there are no errors in my work"
"Check it out" in this case probably means "load it up and see if you like the changes in the game"
ie Boarder is offering a mini mod for people that might like it.
I am assuming that he already tested it... right Boarder?
@Boarder
Thanks for your effort. :go: Would it be possible to expand on your description of the unit changes that you have made?
(not that I can try anything yet since Canadian stores still don't have KoH on the shelves :angry: )

Well since I have never made a zip file or even tried to make a file available over the internet that is what I wasnt sure about, but of course I have tested all of my changes in game. Pluss I can list the changes if you want.

The list..
*Size-
- all units are twice as big.
- ex. Archers were 30 now 60 in a group = more bloodshed
*the only thing that might need adjustment is ctk for archers*
does it mean that longbowmen can now shoot over a citadel? As they could hit a target in citadel when standing just under town walls....
PS: Sorry that I misunderstood "checking out"
-horse archer shooting distance decreased; but can shoot almost at point blankI must say I realy like this one:go:

I haven’t really tested it out much in different battle scenarios. But everything is fine and working because I tested the arch, ctk, arrow scatter, etc. alot. I have mostly tested it out in open field battles. But since I have some free time I’ve been testing more scenarios in the strategic game. So try it out if you want.
