Well I'm sure you know how if you have an alliance with someone you can invoke an alliance (or vice versa) against a warring nation. Sometimes when I have a royal marriage (the ring) with a country and have anything better than a white peace signed they can virtually invoke an alliance. It pops up on my screen, not on the left side, and I have to answer it immediately with the game paused. What's with this? If I decline do I lose KP or my relationship with that country? And how can I do it (invoke the agreement) with them?

Of course a royal wedding is just as important as an alliance, or would you dare to decline fighting for your brother-in-law?

IMO royal marriage is even more mportant than alliance. I think it reflects also in loss of the KP

But how do you invoke it?

you can't invoke it in fact. But when any kingdom declares war on kin kingdom, it suffers KP penalty

I'm still trying to figure out the benefits in the marriage of a prince and princess. I know the tangibles, i.e. the right to claim land from another kingdom. However, I was a vassal of one kingdom and married my daughter to thier prince. Shortly after doing this I declared independence thinking that my good relations with that kingdom would not have a negative effect. Well, I was wrong. My kingdom points took a nose dive and the other kingdom declared war on me. Definately not what I was trying to accomplish....hehe
