Well, if your making the catholics mad at you, it dosen't matter who your attacking. To get back, click on your piety in the kindom tresury and ask for forgivness. Hope that helps. :go:

Hey, if you 'own' the pope, and have the option of excommunicating others, how do you know who is a safe bet to excommunicate? During the brief period before I fired the useless bastard, I made several attempts (different saves, to experiment) to excommunicate other countries or declare crusades when I was successful. Most of the time, he just X'd me instead. Once he did X Whales, and then welcomed them back in under 5 sec. Thoughts?

I have no idea, I would like to know myself. But probably the reason he reacepted wales was because the king died.

The to-be-excommunicated country must be "evil", that means disliked by many catholics and it war with some of them.
