View Full Version : Time needed for nostalgia to decrease?

Does anyone know how many minutes it takes for nostalgia to decrease by a point on its own (on speed 1.0)? The only mention on the subject that I've found is "wait 30 minutes for the nostalgia to deplenish by itself" by Angryminer, but I've been waiting a lot longer than that.
Are there outside forces that affect nostalgia? (Such as being at war)

I'm playing the Glory of God 1.6 mod, so I need to wait until I can adopt a province.
Great mod, by the way :go:

Yes, you it won't decrease if your at war. I don't know how long it takes.

1. As Gustavus Adolphus said, the nostalgia won't ever deplenish while you are at war with anyone.
2. I think the duration was 45 minutes at gamespeed 1.0 before I edited it, but that was long ago...
In GoG it's at 30 minutes for sure.

30 minutes not at war for all 10 nostalgia? And in you people's mods don't you have to wait until 7 or 8 to adopt the population?

In my mod you have to wait until the nostalgia decreases to 6 or lower. That's at least 18 minutes of waiting + 1000 books after the end of the war.

He meant that you must wait 30 minutes to make the nostaligia fall on 6 or 8 level

in vanilla game you can kill the nostalgy immediately by the cleric, but in GoG and HR mods nostalgia(10) killing costs more books than you can collect so you have to wait untill the nostalgia is 8(HR) and 6(GoG?)

EDIT: :bash: again he was faster than me :bash:

I have noticed nostalgia decreaces each time you stop a rebelian, I am not sure if it works in the mod or not, but in the real game it works at war or not I beleave. infact I do not think i have seen it lower when not fighting rebels, but I was at war the only time the people were happy and did not rebel ever.

A won battle in the province will raise the happyness, but not decrease the nostalgia.

Thanks, all, for your help... guess I was hoping I could keep at least one punching bag :rumble: because plundering is good income... but, ok, I'll try the nice guy routine for a while

It takes one or two generations of kings. And that's a very rough estimate. LOL

I don't think so. When you defeat a rebel army, THAT province will get a +1 bonus to happiness temporarily, the province is celebrating your victory over the rebel scum. This in turn will slightly counter the effects of the nostalgia in that province. So that is what you were probably seeing?

So remember: everytime you crush a rebel army, the province that the battle took place will get temporary +happiness bonus. :)

when you defeat ANY army in your home province you recieve bonus of happiness...
