Your "Guardian of Kingdom" is exactly like my "Count Marc" in my current Normandy game. He is a 'Cavalry Master' with a 9-strong heavy cavalry army that maintains rapid control over my kingdom. My other two marshals are a mixed bunch though - not comparable to anything else you have written. A fast moving cavalry specialist army is a must though from my experiences.

I use a 3 Marshall strategy myself with one stricktly an all Feudal Knight force to deal with rebels or enemy incursions.

Of course he is a calvalry master, and will have in time, enforcer, dread and leadership abilites.

My other two marshalls are a mixed bag, but both are masters of the bow and ballistics specialists (only ballistics level 2, no friendly fire).

Heavy cavalry are ***EXPENSIVE*** to repair/replenish... Does the healing skill help replenish them fully? in that case yeah, I could see using more heavy cavalry!

The “Guardian of Kingdom” Army (or what I would call the ”Fire Fighters”) is essential for success in this game. Once established, I usually centralize them within the kingdom so that they can quickly put out rebellions. They are also good for back up during invasions into enemy territory where they can get in, help out, and then quickly return to prior duty. I usually have more than one town (never too close to each other) with the capability of producing feudal knights so that I have multiple choices for replenishment.

Do you guys ever use the logistics skill? I give it to attacking marshals in case they get outnumbered in a foreign province and have to defend or wait for reinforcements. Seems to work pretty well. With it I can also plunder and draw enemy marshals out of their castles so I can fight them in the field and get the extra defense bonus and after they run out of marshals or food or population, I can siege or assault with fewer casualties. Saved my *** quite a few times.

Do you guys ever use the logistics skill? .

i find it pretty useless later in the game , strategist skill is a better option, whats the point with saveing food for morale when you have the best and most battle willing units. but it has its good parts too .in earlier games you need to save food to afford units .
