Hi! New to the boards (as a poster), have been browsing for some time now.

Something I noticed and wanted verification on:

You've got your King and Queen... they have two princes. The prince NOT designated as Heir is given a Role in the Court. When the King dies... does that Prince cost upkeep in his court role?

From what I can tell he does... Is this right? Technically... aren't your Princes "free" of charge in court roles? Is this a bug?

I basically wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this.... As I am pretty far into my game and could be reading the stats wrong.

Yes, you have to pay him after the king dies. I think this is really annoying because your just because your prince isn't the heir to the throne dosen't mean he is now no longer one of the royal family.

True, but you can also be more certain that he's much less likely to be a spy...

I keep on loosing my younger princes when the eldest inherits the throne:I'd love for themto stick around... how do you do it? Keep them in armies on the march?

As for paying them, i'm all for it: Louis XIII of France had the hardest time keeping his younger brother in check... esspecially when he didn't have males heirs yet. And the onlything that kept him from overthrowing his elder brother(appart from his stupidity) was the rent that he got each month fromthe king to pay for his follies

When your king dies the non-heir sons either disappear or stay alive to be a forever-living knight only if right when the king dies they are in the royal court.
