I've owned KoH only for 1-2 weeks, so a second round for all sorts of newbie questions would maybe be appropriate...

My first question concerns unification matters. In a recent game the king of Leon managed to control all of the provinces making up of Spain, so Leon became "Spain".
Will the same happen if I play Nicaea of Trebizond in the high period and conquer x-provinces of the former Byzantine Empire?

And where are the KoH save-files stored?
I would like to be able to move a save from one computer to another but I can't find the save-files anywhere...

1. Yes, specific nations can unite other specific nations when they control some specific provinces and have destroyed other specific nations (the byzantine Empire can't be united as long as Latin, a catholic crusader-state, is still existant).
2. They are located in C:/Documents and Settings/*YOUR USERNAME HERE*/Application Data(Hint: This is a hidden folder!)/Black Sea Studios/Knights of Honor/save

Found it! Thanx a mil!! :go:

Next question:
Is there an easier way to switch units between marshals other then to first enter a city, garrison units, then move the other marshal into the city and move the units to his army?

Not really. You can do some fancy tricks with withdrawing royals from the court and have them leave their army as a (free) mercenary camp, but no, there is no real workaround.
I don't mind that anyway. In Glory of God you usually have just one marshall at all. That's why this problem can't occur to me.

Is there any other conditions for this event to fire?
Cos I eliminated the Latins, I own Thrace and almost all of the Anatolian penninsula (not Rum and Kilikia) and nothing happens... :bash:
I'm playing as Trebizond.

But then the army units lose their experience.

How do I detach my siege units from my marshalls army?

Leadhead, welcome back :halloha:

to unite Byzantine empire you need to own entire Greece (Solun, Hellas) + some Anatolian provinces and eliminate all "Latin crusader states"(emp. of Latins, Kgm of Solun, Dcy of Athens)
And stay orthodox

Just the same way you do with normal squads.

hey i just got the game... once the admiralty is built, what must i do to get exotic goods? Do i need to trade for them or what? From what i have read, i appears they come naturally after the admiralty is built, but i dont know how to get them. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, TimBucs2! :halloha:
To import an exotic good select the town with the admirality, click the golden anchor in the lower middle of the screen and then select the exotic you want to import. This requires a one-time-payment of 2000 gold and 2-3 minutes for the good to arrive. Then it will cost you an continuous upkeep which can be seen in the treasury-screen and depends on the number of exotics you are currently importing.

I hope this helps! :go:

dude, thank a lot man. Now i can take over the world
oh and one more thing, how do your spies become anything besides marshals? Thats all mine ever become, even though i put their experience all the way up. Its nice to be able to cause rebellions and all, but i wanted to see what else could happen. Ok, thank again man, that helps a lot

Your marshall will become whatever he is hired as. He will always go to the enemy king and say "Hi mister! I'd like to apply for a job in your nice kingdom, do you need another fellow knight?". Due to the high "rate of mortality" among marshalls they are usually hired as marshalls.
But I sometimes try the following:
1. When a message says "RELIGION: The pope is getting old" and I happen to remember where he came from I send my spy to his home-nation or I send my spy to one of the nations where the rumours say that they are likely to control the papacy the next time. When the pope dies or a cleric becomes pope the enemy will need a new cleric.
2. I make sure that the target-nation has a low trade-income and more than 1000 gold. Then I send my spy there and offer them a trade-agreement. They see the oportunity to make lots of money by trading with me and hire my spy as a merchant from those 1000 gold.
3. If I have an enemy spy caught I send my own spy to the enemy and then execute the caught enemy-spy. The enemy will need a new spy and this is propably my spy.
4. If I have no oportunity to do something of the above I send my spy to the enemy and give them loads of money. They'll say thanks and hire more knights (often spies) from the money, usually my spy. But the enemy will soon run out of money, so you have to take your actions fast.
The last trick is particularly useful when you want to make sure you will inherit territory. Marry a princess to them and assasinate their male heir. Then it is usually also useful to have a skilled marshall-spy at their court. You will inherit territory through the marriage and your marshall often becomes a puppet king and can give you the rest of the territory. :go:

Espionage is a bit tricky and requires some more attantion than simple beating-them-with-a-stick-until-they-scream, but it's much more entertaining  .

You mean go to a town, highlight the unit and then garrisoning it?
Doesn't work in my KoH, just tried it...
The "deploy squad" button doesn't get activated when I highlight the siege unit, only the "disband unit" button.

Angryminer

Oh, I thought you wanted to disband the siege units.
Now I understand correctly.
But no, towns can't have siege units as garrisons.

Angryminer

Oh no I wouldn't want to disband them as they doesn't come cheap!
Just want to release my marshall from them for a while so that he can move more swiftly.

No, there is no "normal way" to leave a siege unit behind "for a while".
I can think of neat work-arounds using the withdrawal of royals but no, no standard-way.

This probably does not achieve what you are looking for but...
If you disband a marshall who is a royal all his units become mercenaries of your country. Then you can rehire your royal as a marshal go back to the mercenary camp and rehire the troops (cost 0 since they are from your country) but leave the siege equipment behind until you want it.
I haven't tried this myself but it "should" work.
