I know.. I know..
This game was not meant for me. But I didnt know that until I bought it.

A great map. Lots of potential in the game.
But god... it feels like an old action game from the 90s.

Everybody is always at war with everybody.
No mercy. No reasons declared. Only the wish to expand. Kind of like that little windows game, with the blue and red squares trying to overcome eachother.

Ive been playing as sweden, on medium. Its my very first try and I hold about 60 provinces.
I have had probably 20 maxed out marshals, with feudal knights and god knows what.
All of them has of course been turned into nearly unbeatable rebels. (thank you very much, my weak enemies)

Another irritating thing is the fact that nations with the same name appears more often than not.
In my game there has been no less than two Savoy, two Trezbiodz (something like that) two Muscovy, two Normandy, two Austria. ALL at the same time. (Most of them conquered by me now)

So, I turn to you wise people to help me save my interest in this game.
I am looking for a mod that:

1: WAR:
Makes the nations think -not twice- but quite much more, before declaring war.
And no more "Im poor, so you'll have to die", when Im 60 provinces strong, and he's barely holding on to his only one. There is only one outcome of such a war, and the AI should understand it. So, the kindergarden-diplomacy needs to be much more mature and realistic.

2: SPIES:
I dont mind spies. I kinda of like them, really.
But am I such a bad ruler, despite being in top5 on happy population, that once someone suggests a total military revolt, not a single general will stand up for his king to defend the crown? A little more "For king and country!", please.
The only threat Im facing, right now, is the last bunch of maxed out marshals, armed to the teeth, thats revolting against me. 3 of them.
I dont like to lead the battles myself, since Im no good at it. I havent even tried it, because Ive never liked it in other games, so I let my own AI handle the battle for me.

3: COUNTRIES:
"Please, noble king of sweden, will you help us attack the evil Muscovy?"
"Sure, mate! Which one? I kind of like one of them, you know.."
No more countries with the same name.
Hungary and Hungaria is ok. But Austria and Austria.. that just pisses me off.

Another note on this issue, perhaps. Not sure if anything can be done, though.
Now, I dont mind finding Athens having moved its entire kingdom to one last survivng province in Norway.. but seeing Novrogod surviving, with one lone province in germany, one in east africa and one in spain... and still being able to hold it together.. well.. No.
-----------

Maybe Im just missing the real purpose of this game.
Maybe Im hoping it was meant to be a game it really isnt.
I dunno.
I dont like it.
It feels, like i said, like that windows game with the blue and red squares, only with a bit of graphic.

Ive looked at the files, trying to mod anything myself, but Im useless at that. i wish I wasnt, but then again.. I wish I could fly, too.

Does anyone here know if theres a mod that will save this game, in my heart?
If not, its the worst waste of potential, in a game, Ive seen in quite a while. (not that Ive seen alot)

Im aware that this is a longshot asking here, because mods are just a matter of taste.
Cant blame a guy for hoping he's not alone in his agony, though.. :)

thank you.

Oh, and one more thing!

Is it possible to get an "event-letter" everytime something happens in the world that is concerning me?

Like when someone loses a war, and the victor demands that the loser should break off all agreements with me?
All stuff like that.

Knowing whats going on in the world is a major problem, for me.
Things are happening so fast, and Im not looking at the event-list-thingy all the time.

I wanna know where the trouble is brewing.

Concerning your first post hanzie: No one knows if BSS will rework KoH's AI or build an expansion pack for multiplayer (not even BSS). I suggest you start looking for flying instructors.

not yet.

If you are searching for a mod... I'm now trying to make kingdoms as stable as possible. There will always emerge kingdoms like Austria, Savoy etc. as the provinces are called such, but in the mod there is lower probability of this (in HolyRome1.5 even lower than in HR1.4)

most of other things need to be done by developers(BSS if they will get permission to do so from Sunflowers)
but hopefully there is somebody with brain in his head in Sunflowers to save the potential of KoH from being wasted. If not, no mercy, I will wish only one thing: "Sunflowers, be condamned forever!"

As much as there is room for improvement, this game is more "finished" and polished than many others out there. In my opinion developers did really good job and hopefully will do even better with their next project.

It's a fun game, and it feels like it's "finished".

And yes, it has the most stupid AI possible..... like the original poster said: those AI nations use kindergarten diplomacy. LOL

hey guys, so who here remembers the "good Olde days of 1026 A. D."? I gotta tell ya, it was hellback then. I couldn't get my cell phone to work for anything back then. It's a good thing humanity got cell phones fixed by the late 20th century :hello:

COME ON GUYS!!!! what the hell do you expect diplomacy to be 1000 years ago???? there was no mass transit, no worthwhile communications network for little kings like out King of Sweden" here appears to be.

THis game is very well made for what the time period that it's supposed to cover had been.

I'm sorry, but if you want to play a game that is based on a HISTORICAL time period, then before you condem someone else's work, (creators of KOH) try and make one by your self.

AND YES this was teh time period for when their was "Kindergarden Diplomacy" historically on the European Continent. NO ruler trusted another unless there might be a marriage along the lines between both kingdoms.

If you really want to have a MOD that does what you want listed here. Maybe Elvain the Great!!!! will help you make your MOD work.

He seems to be an awesome MODDER.... Kuudoo's to your MOD's elvain, I would like to see a editor so we all can make mods like u get to make or this game.

BUT, sorry to say that this time period is when "Kindergarden Diplomacy" started in europe as to compare it to the GREAT level of diplomacy we have currently, shame that G.W. doesn't know what the word DIPLOMACY means though, but wait that's saved for another forum and NO, I'm not a democrat either :nono:

SO "can i have a editor Please

sry. Could you explain your point in more dumb way to enable dumber ones like me to understand it?
