Hello there,

I was playing normally with my norwegian kingdom for the first time ( Good game to satisfy my inner beast until M:TW 2 comes out ) when I see the Teutonic Order armies...

First of all, why they have the title of "Pan"?? It should be Counts if I am not mistaken.

Then, they have slavonic names?? In one aspect, those names possibly come from the cultural influence of the region...but it doesn't feel right playing a " Drang Nach Osten " when your crusaders doesn't have German names.

So, my question is, how do I make the names of the Teutonic Order be similar/equal to those of Germany?

Thanks in advance.

If they have the title of Pan and Polish names, that means that they were pushed to Poland, and they can hire only Polish knights.

Well, Poland only started the assimilation of the dominion of the Order after Marienburg, so, Teutonic knights ( For the purpose of the game's epochs ) should carry the titles of German knighthood.

EDIT: By the way, they already start with Slavic names.

No, I meant that in the game an AI kingdom counquered all Teutonic Order's provinces, and they only had left some Polish province(s)

EDIT: Yes, I forgot that, they have Lithuanian names at the start. You can edit that in maps\europe\knights\regions_1000.ini and 1200.ini

Ummm no. If you want to change the "culture" of your Knights to Germanic, then you must CHANGE the Teutonic Order's "capital province" into a Germanic one.

The titles like Pan or Graf or Count of Emir are titles that DEPEND on the culture of a kingdom. As far as KOH is concerned, Prussia is not a Germanic province but rather a 'Polish-Slavic' province. Therefore the game THINKS that Prussia is a slavic province and thus gives all Teutonic Order knights slavic title of Pan.

What you must do is :

you mod the files so that Prussia is changed to German culture

Here, take a look.... I copied this direct from the file called TrainUnits.text

"Pomerania" "hi ce" "feudal knight" "teutonic champion" "Germany" "Pomerania" "Teuton Order"
"Provence" "low french" "crossbowman" "halberdier" "Burgundy" "France" "Provance"
"Prussia" "hi ce" "crossbowman" "teutonic champion" "Germany" "Teuton Order" "Teuton Order"
"Brandenburg" "hi german" "crossbowman" "teutonic champion" "Germany" "Germany" "Branderburg"

Try to interpret that file. If it makes sense to you, then you will you learn how to mod files easily.

Let me explain then.

Province of Brandenburg.
Culture is Hi German
Province special units are crossbowman and teutonic champion
At 1st era = province is part of "Germany" kingdom
At 2nd era = province is part of "Germany" kingdom
At 3rd era = province is part of Brandenburg kingdom

Also notice that KOH recognizes Brandenburg province as Hi German culture, but it recognizes Prussia province as culture called "Hi Ce"

No, Hi German is a group of units which you can hire. That is why it's in TrainUnits.txt

As I said look at regions_1000.ini and look for baltic:

[baltic]
vilnus
livonia
estonia
samogita
Kurland
prussia

There remove Teutonic Order's provinces, and add them to German
