Hello-

I am a bit annoyed that certain units that have armor, such as Normans, have no defensive value. I found where the unit values are located, but I'm not sure how to change them.
There's a DFNCE (m,r) column...I'm not sure how I would change it. For example, if I want to give Normans a defense of 15, where would I put it? Thanks!

You can open the file units.xls in Microsoft Excel of Open Office.org Calc (if I remember correctly). There it is quite easy to modify the values.
After you modified the values you can select "Edit" -> "Select all" and "Edit" -> "Copy".
Then open units.txt, remove the contents of the file and then press "Edit" -> "Paste". Then save the file with the new content.
That way you don't have to spend too many thoughts on finding the correct line and column. :go:

Ah...looks like I need to find a program like that, then...do you know where one would be available? Also, does the (m,r) after Defence mean melee and ranged?

1. To open the xls-files you need either Microsoft Office (expensive) or OpenOffice.org (available for free at www.openoffice.org ).
2. Yes, if I remember correctly. I don't have the files on this computer, but yes, I think so.

No, not everything related to linux is free. That's a common myth, but most things are free  .
