Patch unappliable under XP, user installation

Hello there,
I installed KoH on my father's notebook computer. I installed the game on my user, since he have important stuff under his.
The game works flawless, and its great ;)
I want to apply the patch, but unfortunatly, probably because of the user installation, the patch installer doesnt find the game.
Is there any way to apply the patch without reinstalling the game with higher permissions user?

Not that we know, apparently..

You can change the users' permissions at any time though, I think. Maybe try that temporarily? Or update under your fathers account?
