Welcome Char to the club of the rescuers of Gothos. Come down below the hive now, where all the others are already working on wiping out the world of the monsters. This is a work that will last for centuries. Feel happy to be part of it.

I guess I'll first try it without any help. If I really can't make it, I can still post here.

Depends on what kind of games you like.

I reccommend:

Age of Empires 1 (the demo is here (http://www.gamespot.com/gamespot/misc/basic/signup.html)) and Jazz Jackrabbit 2 (demo (http://www.gamespot.com/gamespot/misc/basic/signup.html)).

There are more games I like, but the above two are my alltime favourites.

My recommendations:

The "Baldurs Gate" series, Divine Divinity, the "Gothic" series, the "monkey Island" series, Icewind Dale and maybe "Warcraft 3". Last one is a realtime strategics game, but itīs engine is quite well so many RPG-maps are out already. Of course you would have to find a site to download such but itīs worth it,......

It really depends on what games you like though. If you hate RTS games don't bother to download the AOE demo. If you're not a fan of unserious games with rabbits killing turtles with big guns Jazz Jackrabbit 2 is not for you either. =P

By the way, I'm stuck at that time limit switches thing in the temple. I always arrive half a second too late. Is there even a way to do that part without cheating?

Of course... It is even possible to solve it without using the running boots. The main thing is to remember the location of all levers; you may mark them with chalk, if you like. Don't forget the lever between the gaps - that was my error in the beginning. And make sure you pull the levers in the right order (see the map here (http://home.arcor.de/frankb_1602/TM/Dateien/Schalterrennen.jpg)). Prepare the hook, quicksave the game and start... If you like you may wear the running boots after the third lever (press I to stop the time counter and to wear them).

O.O

It seems I did not see the second switch. That's why I always came too late. :silly:

I tried heading straight to the third, and wondered how that would be possible. ;D

Thanks for the map.

LittleFreak: Also make sure you always whirl the map while you walk, so you always see where you are walking. In this time-related puzzle it is important not to be blocked by not seen stairs and that you pull the lever with your first hit on the action-key. (I had the problem at first, that i always used my weapon instead of pulling the lever because i couldnīt see it: Wall in the way of sight,)

We have a contest running - the task is to finish one world as fast as possible. The first round was from Dreamertown until the beginning of the Hive, the next until the start of the Fairy Forest. There is no time limit, so feel free to participate.

Just "run" through until you get the Hive entry video, then save the game and make a screenshot from the save/load screen and send it to Sentra (sentra7 at yahoo.de); he will upload it to his webpage. The results of round one you will find here: http://ithaca.piranho.de/Wettbewerb/Contest1.htm

Of course, I forgot to mention the Contest topic is in German. We should have made it international, don't you think?
