Hi!
I wonder why some of us, especially American members have those numbers in you nicks.
Like there is so much hulksters or Bersekrs ion the ofrum or you like that numbers? Why?
Maybe it's because I don't like numbers much. Do you know The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry?
For me numbers in or instead of names are something very... robotic
Can you tell me any argument against? Please. I don't wana think you're robotic people

the reason I have numbers after my name is because this is the name I have used on many forums and I just like to use the same one. The numbers don't really mean anything in mine.

Aften people are used to have numbers in their names because chat-platforms like AOL forced them to use numbers.

So many times I'd try to make a user name somewhere, such as Berserkr, and it tells me that name has already been taken, so I'd always have to add something onto it to get them to let me use it. One of my fav bands, the Misfits, have a song called We Are 138, so I just added the 138.

Most people who use numbers after their names seem to begin doing this because the original name that they wanted to use was already taken, so it is easier for them to just put a numeral 2, 3, etc. after the name, instead of actually thinking of a new name. Some people will retain these numerical designations even after they register for different forums, e-mail addresses, etc., either for the sake of consistency, or because they do not want to run into the problem of the name already being taken again. I have also noticed that some people will use the number of their age after their names, like "sullivan29", "silentboy18", etc. This has always seemed rather silly to me, because after one year (or less), their age will change, rendering their username, e-mail address, etc. obsolete because the number no longer reflects their current age.
I always try to avoid using numbers in usernames whenever possible, because the numbers make the name seem rather impersonal, plus it causes the name to lose some of its authentic flavor.
