View Full Version : Province features and rural areas

As far as I know, the province features (fish, brine, silver, etc.) and the rural area structures (villages, monastaries, farms) are randomly generated at game start. Is there a way to predetermine these things?

For the province features, I've tried putting them in the town_template.in2 (or something like that) file, after the "add=" line, i.e. "add=minerals". It seemed to work at first, but I soon realized that it literally adds these features as buildings, and thus takes up a building slot in the town. Since there's no icon, you don't notice at first, but if you try to build anything with that occupied slot it won't work. What's worse, since they're not real buildings, they cannot be removed.

As for the rural structures, they seemed to be defined in the zones.ini in \map\europe\, but not at all. I've tried messing around with the file randomly, even deleting the whole thing, but it has no effect on the game whatsoever.

So, is there a way at all?
