How do you make a new Kingdom?

I realise thatthe files you need to edit are listed in the "what and where" thread, but I was wondering, what exactly needs editing? I am attempting to add Mercia, (the Earldom), some German states and Russian principalities. Any limit on the amount of factions per era/in the game in general as well?

I don't think there is any limit, but generaly I try not to overnumber the kingdoms in the late era.

What needs editing?
I think I was clear there, you need to add the kingdom to the list in a base of kingdoms that are already there, so my tip is:
pick one kingdom as example and do everything what that kingdom has.
The diferences are only:
names of kings
ornament and color of flag/banner
kingdom units
provinces
