How to open graphic files?

How to open graphic files? There are files like *.img and others...
And if I can to open files, what programs can do it?

That are only Image-config-files and can get open with a Text-editor.
The *.rle (you know) are protected.
I think that are rle.bmp files the poor bmp are also not standard and I couldn't open with XnView(but with Acdsee,...).
