Can the norman armour problem be fixed without downloading a patch that has additional changes?

Downloading from the thread MOD HARD"Finalversion" "siegemachineryI".
Installation:
Extract the files in the archive to your Knights of Honor folder. If the defs are there the installation should be complete.
open defs/Units/Military/Units Textdokument and change Your value,after this, save your new value.


norman 65 0 15 0 20 30 500 50 200% 400 30 60 +3 chain mail,swordsmith norman & templar

in front the value 65(this is the attack value of this units)is the places for defend value.Here stand nothing,write down your value and save this after.

First thanks,i am looking in my MOD HARD"Finalversion",and i saw that i forget to change this value.In the MOD i change there all chain(20),scale(30)and plate(40).

Thanks, od you have to change the values in the text document or also in the excel ?

Not all changes in the Unit textdokument must change same in the Units XLS.If the same value stand allready in both Units,so you must change in both Units.

I noticed that the horse archers were shooting at my crossbowmen below the castle and my guys can't respond. Why is this? The crossbowmen should have a much longer range than the horse archers when standing on a higher terrain.

I think this have to do with these values::

crusader crossbow 20 35 150 20 10 500,400 30 800 50 200% 1000 200,700 30 60 +3 fletcher,chain mail ranged crossbow
After MP-Cost comes the Range,here 200,700

Now look for the horce archer:

horse archer 80 60 15 5 100,40 30 900 100 100% 600 300,700 70 120 stable,fletcher,horses defence_low_in_forest,attack_low_in_forest mounted ranged units

Here stand 300,700!!

another exampel from the ballista:

ballista 1200 0 900 0 40 100,80 1 800 0 100% 500 300,800 siege workshop 3 siege units

here stands 300,800.
Now,what does that mean?The Horces archer and ballistas can shooting 300 feet,and the crossbows only 200 feet.I never change this values,change this and tell me what happens!

I downloaded the file utility and opened the game's file directly. What is the maximum range for?

Look for more info in the german thread "MOD HARD "Invasion" last post.First you change the value 200,700 to 300,700 in the Units Textfile,than u look in the Units XLS.Stand there also the value 200,700,so u must change there due.700 is the max!Not change pls.

Did you all play stronghold 2? Then u should noe tht crossbowmen's range are shorter then others. But the armor he wear are better than other range, and also fire a better damage to all units especially against armored units. So, i prefer using longbowmen :go:

I wonder if Laudan could make a very small plugin, increasing the normans armor from 0 to 10 ; and his attack from 65 to 85 for example, because now they are weaker than men at arms :s

in my mod, Normans are far stronger than men-at arms
