An excerpt from the preview at Gamespot:

OK. Let's get one thing straight: ParaWorld isn't a game about a planet full of parachutists. Instead, this upcoming real-time strategy game from Sunflowers and SEK could probably best be thought of as Dinotopia meets Warcraft. And if you thought dinosaurs were cool, wait until you see dinosaurs with machine guns mounted on their backs. Toss in a picturesque graphics engine, and it's no wonder that Sunflowers has high hopes for the game.

Gamespot is really complementing Paraworld on its strategic and graphical levels, they are looking forward to learning more about this game!

Yeah, just saw it, too. The army controller part sounds neat, doesn't it? ;)

Yes it does, it makes me wonder, let's say you have a basic infantry unit, the norsemen warrior for example, can you level it up so it is in your only level 5 spot? This probably wouldn't be strategic but would it be possible to do so?

yep, and a Level 5 Warrior isn't that bad compared to lower level units ;)

Indeed. Just to make that clear: every unit can be promoted - no matter if we're talking about workers or military units. It's totally up to you and what you consider appropriate depending on the situation and your resources.

Is it harder to level lets say a hero or titan than a worker?

Julian

No. The benefits are different, of course. Military units become stronger, whereas workers may be able to carry more, work faster or get more robust. Of course, keep in mind that we're talking about the current status here and some things will change as the balancing progresses. :)

as Julian said... No, for every unit or animal you kill, you'll get skulls, levelling up a worker to level 5 costs the same as leveling up a titan to level 5

And lookie, there's a preview up at IGN (http://pc.ign.com/articles/666/666319p1.html) as well. ;)
What's really different about ParaWorld gameplay is how it treats unit organization. On the left side of the screen (keep in mind there's still time that interface layouts could change) is a slide out box that shows all of the units on your side. While for some games that might be near impossible, ParaWorld will keep it's unit cap at a relatively low 52 units in order to promote intelligent unit management rather than a tank rush mentality. The army controller box also has some other strategic advantages.

Back to the Army Controller: Are all units you make set in the controller or only the units you want?

Neox

Ok, but;
What is the real MAX of units you can control?

Julian

52 units. Plus some optional that are not directly under your control, but will fight on your side.

You mean allies, or something else?

52 sounds fun, becouse I don't like tank rush (in this game dino rush  )!
Can't wait for the demo (I hope SP and MP!) but the game itself is the most important!

Something else. Elements like our beloved raptor ammo. ;)

You're also able to play a skirmish game ... right

Of course.
