View Full Version : [EN]"Death Becomes You" scenario
Hello folks, just interested in knowing if any of you have tried "Death Becomes You" by Phiilip the Great? I just completed it and found it very enjoyable! Very short play, does not take long to achieve the single goal of 10 Aristocrats. Just takes some careful planning and you have to be able to think outside the box.
I didn't intend the thumbs down, I thought I clicked the thumbs up!

Never heard about it... is this somewhere available outside of your club? :rolleye:
I don't know if it is now available elsewhere or not, I do know that Phillip had provided it to several different people at one time, most of which found it to challenging and gave up on it, but if you are interested in giving it a try, I could see about sending it to you! For anyone that fully understands the game of 1602 and it's various quirks this scenario is a cinch, I finished it with enough materials and supplies left over, I could have made several miscalculations and still had plenty to finish the scenario. He has a harder version of it which I am now going to attempt.

AFAIK Phillip does not allow to provide any of his scenarios somewhere else for download.
I also have the scenario, but I had not the patience to try it...
Like me, but I started it already
The problem was how to get Spice and cacao ..and had to remember LInds Easter conest a couple o years ago
By the way.. Philipps' senarios are ell done i.m.o. :go:
They're are s.th. special ...
Yes Phillip's scenes are something special, they are not boring and mundane, you must always be thinking ahead. I like scenes that make me have to think about what I am doing and what the best way to do something is! I try my best to also make my scenes bend the mind and stretch the limitations. As Phillip says think outside the box, you just might find a surprise out there!
@ Sir Henry, Phillip said I could send it to you if you want to give it a whirl! Which version do you want, version 1 with 100,000 starting gold or the harder version 2 with 50,000 starting gold? There is a slight difference in starting goods also, namely 50 less tools and 100 less brick! Replacing them is 50 more food and 100 more wood.
I have now completed v2, I actually fared better on it than the first version. Eventhough I started out with less coin, I ended up with more coin than on the first. But of course I had already played it once and knew what I had to have and how to go about it. The closest I came to using up my starting goods was my tools(with the exception of the 2 jewelry). I wound up with 18 tools left. So there is still room for mistakes!
AFAIK Phillip does not allow to provide any of his scenarios somewhere else for download.
Who does he think he is? :nono:
Well, I think it's a good idea to accept another one's opinion :go:
I don't really see anything wrong with Roadrunner's statement myself. He is just stating something he has observed. There are not many places you can download 1602 scenario's. But you can find some of Phillip's scenarios at his Editor's Club and also some at Helen's Anno Club, which is open for membership to anyone that wants to join. My scenario's go to Helen's Club first, then to the Editor's Club and then to Annopool.
