I just purchased the game. North American Version already patched to 1.3.

I get the CD icon thingie, then after that.. nothing.

No error messages. No black screens or anything. My desktop just sits there.

My specs:

HP a1132n (very similar to HP a1130n)

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
1024 GB Ram
ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Shared Graphics

All drivers updated. Even DirectX.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the copy protection on the disc. I have no "virtual" disc drives of any kind on my PC.

I have to DVD drives, and I tried them both. No luck.

Help..!

I just read it may be a problem with Norton. So I shut off all my background programs, restarted, and still can't run the game..

I think a 64-bit version looking at the processor, which isn't supported, if I recall it right.

'T could be that the newest graphic cards aren't supported either..

When you display taskmgr.exe does KoH.exe exist?

Just for several seconds and then it turns off.

Then I think it must be a fault in the operating system and not a hardware problem..but I could be wrong. Does configure of KoH work? I mean: KoH.exe /c

Well it doesnt work properly, not if it turns off the screen. Why is koh.exe turning off?.

*Essential operating system and/or game files are missing
*KoH cannot work with your OS / system

I think. Tried reinstalling already? And then using packman?

OK, I have this problem too, so there's a key question.

Are you running Windows XP, and not doing it as an administrator?

For me, it won't work on a non-administrator (just the turning CD thingy, with KoH.exe and Y.exe or J.exe or some long scramble of characters.exe when I do CAD) unless the administrator runs it first, and then disconnects (not logs off.) I have found no way to fix this, and the only workarounds I have found are to either become an administrator, to uninstall and reinstall into the Shared Documents folder (this may or may not work, but it fixes similar problems in other programs so I'd assume it does) or to have the administrator run the program prior to you running it.

Well i used packman installing HR 1.6, and the game version was certainly 1.3 as koh modders reccomended.

And, what Timotheus said? Do you run windows Xp and are you Adminstrator?

yes but why does being admin on windows effect koh.exe?

Registry access rights. KoH needs that access as far as I know.

so what can i do in this situation too, do you got any solution?.

Alternatively you could dink around in the registry. I'm currently trying that but it hasn't worked. Be very careful if you try this.

i have this problem now when i never had it before. i recently downloaded and used registry mechanic which cleans out the registry and CCleaner which cleans out other stuff. i wonder if this has anything to do with it. i also have an ATI x800 and since having the newest drivers it doesn't run. also, something very weird is that on the tab at the bottom of the screen that shows up when you pop in a CD, it says knights of honor, but instead of the little knight graphic, it has the green "2" from battlefield 2 special forces which i have installed. i miss KOH, please help

It's either due to the new drivers or to the fact that KoH doesn't support the newest generations at all - but you said it had worked before. Try reïnstalling KoH or if that doesn't work undoing your changes (graphical or else). Windows has restore points too - but they might not help either.

well, i figured my problem out. it seems i'm just an idiot  . i was only turning off ONE aspect of my norton security security instead of all, or at least the aspects that interfere w/ KOH running. i turn of internet security completely, and it runs fine. sry for the mixup :nono:
