Gīday me Ladies and Gents

I donīt know if anybody out there can remember the game "castles"?

It was a PC Game in the good old 386er times.

Based in old England, you had to construct and build a "castle".

Now the point is: In that game you designed your castle and then they started building it.
There was a management system, where you where able to decide how many men where working on each "wall-part" at the time.

In games like "Stronghold", "AoEII", "Cossacks", etc. you decide where the wall comes and .... ta ta - there it is!???????

But probably Iīm too late?!?!

We have no answer of that, but they said that game don't have "micromanagement".

Hi!

At last somebody replied on my post.
Thank you.
I have read that there will be no kind of micromanagment.
My point was, that I want to see that the fortifications or walls are build.
I think in some cases, it took decades to build up a castle or at least new citywalls.

So, will I see the walls being build?

We know that castle-upgrading needs time.
(a status-bar in the "build-screen" indicates the progress)
I don't know if walls etc. go into the same category as upgrading a town from level 1 to 2, so perhaps we'll see a status-bar, too, or the building will just pop out immediately.
I believe that the building of i.e. city walls consumes time, but I really don't know because there was no dev-statement yet.
(That's why I didn't answer yet.)

Hi there, again!

Thanks for your reply!
Are you collecting your knowledge just in the boards?
Or do you have contact to the developers?

I canīt wait to get this game! Iīve already started to play Medieval, again.

Was there any statement about the harbour or the available ships in the game?
Will there be a chance to have sea-battles?

Well then

Farewell

So, my personal knowlege is from the forum and some articles I've seen. Ships won't be much specified, what IMO is not so good but that's true. See thread called "Ships?" in General discussion. Thare you'll find also answer to naval battles. Again not so good for me :bash:

taht the point where everyone has his priorities on his "wanna have feature"
mine is a nice animated folkparty (marriage of the king in example) and also use it for moral up keep and diplomacy (onvite other kings)
yours is the naval battle,... well indead its nice to think about it, but when i wanna see naval battles i buy games like "anno" or "port royale"

I think that the most used shiptype back in those days was a cog (http://www.abc.se/~m10354/mar/cog.htm)

Hi there!

I think the Cog or the "Kogge" came a bit later.
In the early medieval time I think.
They had longboats and then later caracks.

I although think it shouldnīt be a big part in the game.

But it should be historicaly accurate. Some Nations build boats, some not.

The "Hanse" was a part of the medieval time!

The Anglosaxons, I think, had a lot of problems with boats from scandinavian region.

So, shouldnīt there be a chance for, as an example, the king of denmark to invade europe by ships?
:go:

Castle strike?

I've played the demo. It's a pretty standard RTS in that way. It's not even close to Castles.

NOOOOOO!

"Castles"!!!!!!!

I think the game should be 10 years old by now.
It probably was the first medieval castle simulator!!!!!

Canīt nobody remember?

Hi!

Sorry, didnīt get that!!!?
:D

I agree that it shouldnīt be the same.

But it would be so great to see how they build it!!!!!
And it should take a year or so!

So when you decide to further fortify your town or stronghold, you should have an army around to protect it!!

Cheers:cheers:

I watched the preview and that game is absolutly NOT what I want!

In some positions it looks quite Okay, but the game itself and the story and so on - its all ******!!!!

So please dear developers and of course publishers make it a game what will be a good game for at least half a decade!!!!!!!!:D
