Provinces exhausted by war?

I just finished taking over England and I now have my cleric running around taking away the nostalgia problems. Now, all of my provinces have -12 or -13 in 'Exhausted by War.' Does time alone remove the fatigue? Is there something I can do to hasten the recovery?

War exhaustion will start to go down when you cease your warring. It's a fairly quick decline too, so it doesn't take terribly long.

The war exhaustion will only cease when you have no wars declared at the moment.
