Well, it don't seems like that you've made a bad investment ie. at IGN they gave it an overall of 8.5 - here is the 4 pages review (http://pc.ign.com/articles/378/378894p1.html)
Well yea but thats their opinion only. Every person has different likes and dislikes. It is a good game thought.

sorry to tell you, but i didnt like this game (in german: die gilde) at all.
its the sequel to "die fugger", which i really enjoyed.
unfortunately there is no demo available, so try to find some reviews about it before buying.
if you are looking for a trading game, i recommend the patrician3 by ascaron!

i have it and i kinda think it ****s and is tad boring... you pretty much hae you employee's do work and go do stuff.. i tried robber i was master fencer.. had 3 theifs under me :D but game overal ratin for me is 3.0 out of 10
Well, The reviews don't tell you much. Pretty much all the games sites give about the same rating. They give good games bad ratings and bad games good ratings and sometimes but its rare they give good games good ratings.
Anywho i am a part of the town council as a builder asistant or what ever its called. i used to have a bricklayer works shop but i sold it. Now i own a level 3 house and 2 level 3 money/bank houses. I am in my 2nd generations but my guy proly will die soon. He already is 45.
my necromancer lived to 62+ :D

I really liked the town council, too.
I was used to own the local church (constant money-flow) and engage in political debates (bribe!) with the other members of the council.
This game got me hooked up pretty much...
But yes, this game wasn't designed for people who like action ;) .

Well, I love action. I also like this game. I got 3 differen't occupations and got 2 of them are at grade 6 the other one i just started. I got Stone Masen at grade 6 and money lender at grade 6 and i choose trader as my new occupation. I am getting like 14 ap point now i think. I Still am loosing like 2000-3000 penny pounds, or what ever its called. How do i get more people to borrow money from me?
I have played it too!!! Very good game indeed!!!
I only managed to become very rich with or bricklayer, smith or something with the wood..... Ow and the priest thing is also a good urning living....gives you a percentage from all the money that is given to the church...!!!
I stopped when I had two Palaces...with each a full Wine cellar.... Being Sovereign is cool...staying Sovereign is sometimes hard.... But what I liked the most is marrying old women with a lot of cash!!! :D
Very good game!!!
(playing Chicago 1930 now...very cool game too....game after Robin Hood....same lay-out different time....(same as desperados...anyone played that...I am trying to get my hands on that one....)
Welcome back Arjenvs, haven't seen you in a while.

The game was to hard to learn so I dropped it... :p
Yea i also tjought the tutorial was not so good. When i started a new game i was like what the heck do i do now. So it took a while and several restarts till i finally figured it out. Its fun now.
