Two Questions...

I stopped playing KoH awhile back, because it wasn't challenging. Beautiful game, but too easy. Anyways, I wanted to run a mod, but Windows has the file designated as Read-Only, so I cannot install a mod. Any idea how I can take this off?

Second, I know there was a way to drastically shorten the horrendously long splash screens at startup, but I no longer remember what it was. Can anyone tell me?

1. Which file is write-pritected? The archive-file doesn't need to be write-enabled, as it is only read.
Anyway, you should be able to alter the write-protection in the properties-menu of the file (rightclick on file, properties).
2. There was a file around the forums, but all mirrors are down. I'll try to remember to check back later to re-attach the file here.

After the first five seconds of each logo (and zero seconds of the intro as well), hold Ctrl and left-click.
