:bash: The game sometimes crashes to desktop after a few hours of play without any error. The interesting thing I found was that after the crash my display setting is changed from 32 bit to 16 bit for no reason at all & without any errors. I have more than enough system requirements. Can anyone please help. My specs:- P4 3Ghz, 120 GB hard disk, 2GB RAM, 256 MB Geforce 6600GT XFX graphics card, Win XP pro with SP2 & M-Audio Omni studio sound card. PLEASE HELP!!!!:bash:
I have this problem too, and I think it's a known problem. The only remedy I found out yet was: save often. And then I have the problem that saving causes KoH to crash, sometimes, too :P
I think you'll have to live with it.
By the way, KoH runs only in 16-bit mode, so it's "right" that that wasn't changed to 32 again if KoH crashed. Rebooting your pc sets it to 32 again.

Thanks a lot for replying. I was starting to feel that I'm the only one with this problem. I think I'll run KOH after I turn my display to 16 bit manually maybe then it won't crash cause saving doesn't cause a crash on my PC.Anyway thanks again if you find anything else which can help please do let me know. Hope you're enjoying the game it's really superb to bad it has this stupid problem

:go: I tried playing KOH by changing the display setting to 16 bit manually & uptill now I think it works. I haven't experienced any crashes since. I hope this info is useful to those who suffer this same problem.
Yeah, keep us informed, William, this could actually be great news!

I Think I *may* have found the crash tick that causes the game to
crash...ofcourse this is pure speculation but I have not had any recent crashes and play it 24-7!! :D
1) right click your desktop and select properties from the drop down menu.
2) click the Appearance tab at the top of your display properties..then in
that same window click the effects button.
3) uncheck all of those boxes!!
for some reason the game has some issue with the menu style
transition effects with micro$haft windows -&- koh.
this is all a guess but the game has not crashed on me since I changed
these settings and also no memory leak that climbs to a SCARY 300 mb & up!
g, ..you would think that the beta testers at sunflowers & black sea studios
would have performed *BETTER* testing before the build release :(
hmmF!!
anyways, hope that helps you all as it did me :P
cheers :)

I think your system is too well! the KOH is a game need low requirement.
Maybe she is not go with your computer.
I ever encounter this problem. I changed my graphics card drive system. you should choose the compatible, not the latest! or you can try it more time.
Tell me if you cure the problem.
Goog luck, my far-between Friend.
God bless you.

I have windows 2000 which doesn't have any transition graphics AND I set to 16 MB and I still get occassional crash. Any other ideas?
I am afraid that all crashes are just due to bad code.. which would make them difficult to solve. Only a stability patch might help.
White Knight - I tried your tips, but I think you've just had luck so far. KoH had a crash fairly quickly after the start.
its weird but wheever I play koh in the morning it crashes but when i play it at about 5:00 it works! Im really lost:scratch:
I was also getting an occasional crash but it improved since I got more RAM. I think it is a memory management problem. And yes, the testers of KoH did a more than lousy job. They probably never played for longer than five hours.
