I'm not usually into mods where the gameplay of a game I like is dramatically changed. What i do like is a mod where the right twekas are mod to make a near perfect game way better.
I want a mod where virtually nothing is changed except the following:
- The AI needs to build fortification upgrades
- The AI needs to build better units
- The ai needs to attack my fortifications properly, in the normal game they tend to send their units one by one at my gate rather then rushing all at once. My archers decimate them everytime.

Ok, you have right, but in the moment the programm make that the units inside the town retread, if i go with my units to the walls. Only if i standing on the walls or my units stand inside the town so the AI units fight.The Ai units fights also , if i cannot win. I think fortification upgrades have some mods.

In one of mine mod InvadeEconomic/KlassikEconomic support the AI her troops with trebuchets and catapults. This siegemachinery throw her bolts agains the units of the walls. This siegemachinery clear the walls.

you ask for good things, surely!
the forst 2 points are improved in almost all the mods (it is the base how to improve the gameplay, to make AI build better buildings in both military and economic aspects what leads to the fact the AI economy is stronger and AI builds better fortifications and better units.
Unfortunately to make AI be stronger in military you need to improve his economy what requires deeper changes than just order AI to build better buildings sooner (the buildings will not be built untill the AI has no money to build them)
I recomend you to look to stickied thread "Mods available" where the mods are described. The one I really like is Angryminer's GoG which improves mostly just economy and so also military aspects of AI behaviour. Andother tip is NotR mod.
the third request is problematic.
We can force AI to use better units, but unfortunately we can't force it (by modding - yet) to use better tactic. Though in most of mods (those I mentioned + Laudan's mods + my Holy Rome) Ai is able to use more marshalls and it happens often that he attacks you with 2 marshalls so his army is stronger and the battles are more likely to be lost for the player.

You are bothe very helpful indeed! One last question, as I am a big fan of siege battles, which mod supports the most the building of better fortifications by the ai as well as the AI attacking towns more?
I am playing GoG, but i haven't gotten into it enough to see if the AI builds the cool wall improvements like ballista towers and stuff. Also I like what Laudan is saying that he got them to use trebuchets and stuff. How did you do this Lauden? By adding these units to the merc camps or somehow making them preferred units?
I already put in GoG so if theres an easy way to make sure the ai builds those siege units in this one also, that would be awesome.
Last thing I wanted to say, this game is fantastic and by far the best game I have EVER played. Is there anyone out there making a game in this style or are there other games with this slye? Mainly what i like is the completely historical feel as well as the use of armies in a large view and zoomed in battle view.
Anyways, from my searching i haven't found any games quite like this so I started an open source project to make one of our own. I have some pretty amazing programmer freinds and it could become a reality. If any of you are into it, pm me and I'll see about including you in the porject. As I said its open source and no profit would come from the game, so you'd have to be motivated from shere love of video games.
Hi Kevincompton! I play in the moment the new version of Mod Finalversion( InvadeIII ). The trebuchets and catapults recruit the AI from the town and can recruit these weapons from the merc camp. I play all my battles self and i am very happy with the new Mod Finalversion. Very important is for all players, who fight the battle self: Deactivated the pause function ! This can you make only in the beginning of the game. I like the Mod Finalversion more than the Mod InvadeEconomic, because the Finalversion have the best military units and ...... Test it self! If the AI garrision have a catapult or trebuchet inside, so these siegmachinery fighting your incoming troops ! Becareful ! The best is that the Ai can used now all siegemachinery and the INTROMovie KOH show you now what really can happen in the game! Some tactic must improved ! This can make only the patch. Some own wishes i cant in the moment change, but perhaps i find later a idea.

Awesome! I may just try that out, could you link me? Also in yours does the AI build more of the wall imporvements like ballista towers and such?
